The record is not very good by following fans' suggestions here.

I'd say RA needs to leave first, then trade Battier for a scorer with heart who can be a closer in game-end situation, then bring in a defensive specialist from whereever to replace Battier.

RA's offense looked good last night. It's not the coaching it's the players. What we going to do have a new coach ever year? GOSH!

In theory, you are absolutely correct. We won't get equal value for him and trading him away starts us over. I am sick and tired of Tmac's play, but I am all for making a subsidiary trade and giving it another shot.

However, if we were to pick up a third scorer, ala Magette, and by the end of the year it's the same results.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass Tmac.

You know, it's somewhat ironic. In the Alanis Morisette kinda way. He begs to get traded to the team he wants and then.....

You are not going to win a championship with RA as the coach. Defense wins championships.

Denver played horribly defensively last night and it gave you the false impression that Rox's offense looked good.

Well, wait until Rox plays a team with some defense, then most likely you will come here and want to fire RA.

I completely agree. Denver is a team not known for its defense. Rockets' offense is far from inspiring or perfect. It's predictable, slow, and erratic. A good defensive team like the Spurs would expose them quickly in the regular season. In the playoffs, where most teams buckle up on defense, would kill our Rockets as well.

Face it, our team's got the mental toughness of a 3 year old. It takes special players to fit RA's offense and we need to make some trades to get them. If that's not possible, get rid of RA and rehire JVG while he's still on the market.

Trade Battier for a scorer and bring in a defence specialist...sounds perfect but...it's not soccer m8, we can't just "purchase" any players we want :(

Battier is one of our key defensive guys, and shows a lot of hustle. I would easily trade T-Mac to get Cat back in H-Town and Magette. We would have Francis, Yao, and Cat back together. Plus with Magette added we would have a handful of scoring options.

Denver played about the worst kind of defense you can against a team with only one real weapon, and a bunch of guys who can't hit a shot unless its completely wide open (and even then, its a stretch).

What's funny is that they played Yao with the pre-zone defense (traditional)... which is odd since George Karl was using the zone defense on Olajuwon before it was even legal.

Most teams won't allow Yao to sniff the ball as much as Denver did... they'll simply deny it to him, and this team will need a guy who can breakdown the defense by himself to get a good shot.

Brooks showed some real flashes last night. I like him as the backup. The kid is quick.

How interesting people always think the problem is with ONE person. Be it Rudy T, Yao, JVG, Rafer, now it's T-Mac or Adelman. T-Mac was never hated so much until this season. So people here just like to point finger at ONE person. "If we could just get rid of this ONE guy, we would be alright."

Reality is much more complex than you think.

I say we just get someone in the draft. Someone like.. Rudy Gay. He looks like a good complimentary scorer.

There are plenty of issues that are splintering Rocket's fans, but there's almost universal agreement that the point guard position needs to be upgraded.

    Exactly.

The Rockets are 11-24 without T-Mac and he is the problem???

Adelman needs to be shown the door not even 30 games into his first season as coach???

    Both are just silly.
(Tracy does need to start moving more off the ball thow. As does the entire team...)

    something wrong with your brain?
Shane Battier is the best defense guy in Rockets!
Do you think anyone else is good?

I remember Magic said last night that the T-Mac and Yao combo "doesn't work". He goes on to say that the rockets need to trade one of them. Also he and kenny pointed out that there are a lot more ball movement when one of the stars are out. I do agree with him that this combo might not be the best, but if we do trade away one of them, who are we going to get back? Which team will be willing to take T-Mac? How much talent are we going to get back? I get a headache everytime i think about this. I'll leave it to DM to take care of business.

There are three essentials for the Adelman offense.

    1. Ball movement
    2. Spacing
    3. Player movement/cutting

When we started that game last night, our spacing was great, ball movement was good, and player movement was much improved. Consequently, we were getting some wide open looks and banging them down at a decent clip.

The minute Mike James hit the floor, spacing decreased, player movement decreased, and ball movement decreased. When one guy stands, it causes a whole ripple effect as other player are trying to maintain proper spacing. James would go halfway through a cut and then stand instead of running through, thereby slowing down everybody else. When he got the ball, he would try to create off the dribble, again slowing up ball movement and player movement as everybody else starts standing around waiting to see what he is gonna do. The man just doesn't get it. He throws up a garbage shot with a defender in his grill and it goes down, he celebrates. Meanwhile, Iverson is racing to the other end, he has to grab him, Iverson gets the bucket and the And 1. I don't know what he's thinking out there or not thinking but he has been and is simply terrible right now.

In order, this is my list of worst to first of players that simply don't get it yet.

    1. James - dude has got to move, pass, and move some more, otherwise he's in danger of being sent out of here.

    2. McGrady - yeah, he's hurt, but he's got to move and pass and quit trying to make every shot and every assist.

.........these two gentlemen are in a league of their own right now trying to play in Adelman's offense. They both are struggling big time. McGrady, I think, will pull out of it. He's a great player. I don't know if James can make the adjustment.

    3. Scola - dude looks lost out there. He's had a few moments and he is more than willing to give up the bball. He's just struggling with the whole league, not necessarily Adelman.

    4. Francis - he's trying too hard to fit in, not penetrating and finishing when we need him to, not creating opportunities off a couple dribbles.

    5. Head - had a good game last night, but he keeps putting the ball on the floor and getting in trouble. He's a turnover waiting to happen. He should not be taking more than 2 dribbles before shooting or passing it off.

    6. Deke - never mind, he can't play offense for anybody.

    7. Battier - dude just doesn't look for his shot or opportunities to score. He's a below average finisher/driver, actually a liability at times offensively, especially when his 3 pt set shot ain't goin down.

    8. Hayes - dude understands ball movement and player movement, does a good job of moving without the ball and moving the basketball and spacing the floor. Too bad he can't hit a free throw.

    9. Brooks - rookie, but coming on. Had a few opps to get to the rim last night and passed the ball back out. Should have taken it in and finished instead of trying to set up other guys for 3 point shots they can't hit.

    10. Rafer - looks smooth as silk out there, but even on a good night, his shooting percentage SUCKS, and every opponent funnels the ball to him defensively because they know eventually he's gonna have a long string of misses. I think he is understanding the Adelman system better than most, but he can neither shoot nor finish.

    11. Bonzi - He's played for Adelman before. Although, it was interesting the other night, he was standing around and Yao had to holler at him to cut to the basket so Yao could feed him for a layup. He's got great talent, but he's mentally lazy.

    12. Yao - He's struggled operating from the high post, which is very surprising. I think he's gonna get used to shooting the 15 footer, and I think he is making the right choice in not falling in love with the high post, but is using the high post when he is fronted in the low post to create space. Yao is a dedicated worker. He will become even more proficient running the Adelman offense.
