Violent night, holy night. All is loud, all is bright. Round your fireworks and lets get wild. End the night in thunderous style.
It was bad last night. These people spared no expense. Really loud from every direction. 7 month old kept waking up. Pretty much ruined any chance for a good start to Christmas. It finally stopped around 4:30am by me. I don't remember it ever being like that.
Good lord, that's awful. 180˚ opposite of Christmas. Happily, the hippies of San Francisco haven't picked up on this new tradition, yet.
People are idiots. I heard a few last night. I wish they'd outlaw them in the county and not just the city. They're a scourge.
It's probably Hispanics. They celebrate Christmas a little differently. I had the pleasure of spending an evening with a Hispanic family one Christmas eve many years ago and it was quite fun. It wasn't so much about presents and stuffy traditions, as it was about celebrating and being together. I hear you on the fireworks though. I hate them period; and can really do without them on Christmas. They terrorize animals, scare birds, litter, start fires, and don't do the environment or air we breathe a bit of good. But look... eww a pritty color! Ahhh, and it's sooo bright!
The stands open before Christmas for New Years. Very limited window to sell so they try to maximize it. Combine that with bored morons who have the day off from their minimum wage job, and you have motive, means and opportunity.
It was bad when I lived in Alief. Sad to make this correlation, but I lived in a townhouse and as the neighborhood went from being homeowners to lower income renters, the noise got louder. Noisy neighbors and people driving by with bass blasting at all hours became more frequent annoyances. And then the fireworks became a problem 6-8 years ago. New Years was always bad with how late it went (5 AM) but then the Christmas thing followed as well. Haven't had an issue since I moved into a nice apartment complex in a different part of the city though.
