They were dead the first half and then the second half they all turned it up. They were less tired the 2nd half?!?! Not buying it.

Top comment in the Texans subreddit right now.

Apparently this guy works for NFL network.

Which Chronic article confirmed that Smith has final say on the draft? Well, now it's out. No vagueness about that. There really is no reason, other than being a masochist, to support the Texans until McNair replaces his GM.

Goodness gracious. Adding the title of douchebag to incompetent under his job title would be appropriate.

How does one quit on a general manager?

Had Ed Reed call out Kubiak/Wade here but those are coaches
Heard Ahman Green and Marcus Coleman say some not so nice things about Rick/Texans awhile back.

Quit on a GM? Ask for your release? Don't re-sign with team?

Sees players as chess pieces. Same complaint against Daryl Morey.

So, in what essentially amounts to a lost year, we can't even work on developing Savage at all (he can't even practice with the team, let alone start a game) because Rick Smith IR-stashed him over a 4-6 week injury.

    Great job, Rick.

    BOB has friends.

    BOB likes to leak.

That's nice, but he had final say in this atrocious roster.

    He built that.

You don't think BOB made that call? How on earth is that Ricks call?

Pretty sure Rick is the one who gets to decide IR/no IR.

Also, aren't GMs typically in charge of the roster, while the coaches are in charge of development and execution?

Does that SOUND like a BOB call to you? A QB coach putting his project QB on IR and essentially burning his entire year for an extra roster spot? Over a 4-6 week injury?

He probably submits it to the league but I find it hard the coach with final roster power doesn't decide that

Yeah it does. BOB has made awful decisions the whole time, like trading six picks for two busts, signing over the hill dudes, and costing us compensation picks by cutting Manning and Daniels (we later resigned Manning and Daniels is better than any TE we have)

Daryl wins every trade and consistently finds talent at the bottom of the NBA garbage bin (2nd round). If Daryl was in Rick's shoes he'd be pumping out pro-bowlers in the 3rd-5th rounds on the reg. Rick can't even find one in the entire time he's been here.

This franchise is a joke and frankly, this entire city (specifically media) is a joke for how they show blind support for them. Every media member seemingly tip toes when it comes to this team and sensitive issues. Brian Smith basically insinuated that he ran the basis of the article by Texans brass *before* it came out. It's been fairly well documented that if you aren't on the Texans gravy train, you ain't coming to the party (i.e. looking at everything through Texans colored glasses).

Seeing other reporters come out today (reputable ones too) that Mallett was an idiot during camp and how he constantly had other issues surrounding him. What the hell? You're the damned media, why do you wait until NOW to say those things after the kid's been cut?

Was set to get season tickets next year (high in line) but done. Will use it to get Rockets season tickets and reup my Coog tix for next year.

I agree BOB's coaching is suspect. I have no confidence in him anymore and these leaks are so continent for him.

I think O'Brien is an arrogant, self serving dumbass

I think the reddit user has Rick Smith confused with Morey. Chess pieces? Yeah right. Who decided to cut Charles James? Who decided to release Quessenberry? Rick Smith did that? Nah. The only decision that looked like was Smith's decision was Q Demps. I bet you that "NFL Insider" is BobbyTheGreat's cousin-in-law.

Morey does NOT win every trade. His 2nd round talent was just cut by the Denver Nuggets. He traded away Aaron Brooks (who the team ended up missing dearly when their backup PG went down) for Jordan Hamilton. Speaking of PGs, what about Jeremy Lin? Overpaid for him, then trade a draft pick just so the Lakers can take him away from the team. Morey's had his share of bad deals. He's a good GM but he's nowhere near perfect.

Morey understands he won't get every pick or trade right.

That's why he amasses a lot of picks, cheap players, value contracts, and high upside guys.

BOB meanwhile overpays old guys, loses value by trading up, compounds it by picking busts, and cuts value players

ANYONE?! How does one quit on a General Manager?

Outscored 69-0 in the first half of two of the previous four games, seems more likely (if they did) they quit on the coach.

Daryl treats/sees his players as assets, not human beings.

Lies and damned lies! Lets not act like McNair & Rick are penny pinchers and won't hand out contract extensions. Many guys have gotten contract extensions or new deals when probably not deserving.

Sorry, don't believe they put Mike Mohamed on IR because they wanted to save money.

Yeah, they definitely stopped giving a **** on Sunday afternoon.

Been saying it for years, professional sports media is a joke, and that goes double for local media. It's always about McNair. The guy runs his team like he doesn't care as long as the cash rolls in, just like McDonalds.
