You know this is when you have hate in your heart? When you start talking about things that never occurred while he was here with the Astros.

Crane is going to have to shake something up or watch this season be lost.

None. And when players see that you have no idea what you are doing, effort will not be there.

They have to do something. The status quo ain't working. At all! This team needs some kind of a change just to maybe wake them up a little if nothing else. They're sleep walking out there.

You are right. It's so much more important to have a good start.

Lol. Hate in my heart. Lol

You are right. Dusty was born in 2019 and nothing he did before 2020 ever happened.

And if it did, only people with hate in their hearts mention it.

    Serious questions

I know its basically unheard of for an MLB manager to be fired within his first season.

    1. How long before his job is in jeapordy? I realize its much more than just the manager but this team is not playing good baseball and its physical AND mental.

    2. If Espada is retained how do they turn this around? Because as bad as Jose Abreu and the leverage relievers have been, you can point to several other things as well.
Watching this game, I don’t see the Astros of the past 7 years

7-15 in the beginning, 7-15 in the middle, 7-15 at the end?

Not sure how one of those is more important or defines anything.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Joe isn’t gone after today.

I hope so. Not that I want anyone to be fired, and Espada seems to be a nice enough guy, but the Astros seemingly think they can be on auto-play and need a kick in the pants. I would put everyone on notice from coaches to players . Bring in a new coach, bench Abreu and bring up some young guys to replace vets who aren’t performing - at least to send a message that losing won’t be tolerated… or just tank the season and go for the #1 pick.

    Ok.

    2 ideas.

    1) Fire Espada and hire Michael Brantley. Most candidates are under contract with other organizations and Brantley will command respect, hard play, and leadership.

    2) throw the white flag for 2024. Trade Bregman. DFA Jose Abreu. Prioritize NOT giving Pressly 45 games this year. Give AAA guys time in MLB at various times for experience and assess them for 2025.

Espada is not getting fired in April, with an injured rotation and strict orders to play the equivalent of my grandma at 1b.

maybe I just don’t remember but when has a manager ever been canned in April?

Espada has managed to **** up this teams chemistry by tampering with the line up and no plan.

If I’m Crane, Joe is gone to save the season.
