We aren't giving up everything. If we were, the deal would already be done.

Possibility of being left high and dry exists. If that happens, Rockets are then in prime position in the 2014 lottery. Regardless, it will be worth the risk.

tell that to the organization if you're so worried about it. we're just fans, what are we supposed to do about that.

This. i agree. I think its more than fair.
    2 1st rounders (1 lottery), 2nd rounder
    Morris (first round pick...upside?)
    Patterson (first round pick...big upside)
Martin (expiring..valuable piece and good offensive player)
    Jones (first round pick..upside)
    Take on 1 bad contract

It gives the Magic something to work with, young players--all with upside, future picks, gives them cap space by taking one of the bad contracts away + Martin.

Much better for a rebuilding team than what the Nets offered. Who can top that? (that is in the running with cap space?)

This would be the worst deal ever if it meant getting Turk's and/or Rich's contracts

    LET IT GO MOREY

This is a fan forum. I don't think anyone's looking for you to intervene.

A legitimate question that belonged in any of three different existing threads.

You aren't special, you don't need your own Howard thread to ask a question that has been repeatedly asked and answered a million times already in threads that are already active

This is off tangent but are you the same "RockNRandy" in the Boards.HoustonTexans.com forum?

You are probably right and I know I'm not special (on the boards anyway). I should have read the existing threads more closely. Next time I will.

I think we end up finding a medium where we take back one bad contract and give up two prospects and three picks.

Morey's final offer to the Magic will be something like this:

Martin (Magic can flip him for a pick at the deadline)
    Pick ANY two: Parsons/Patterson/Lamb/White/Jones/Morris/Llull
    Toronto 1st
    Dallas 1st
Future Houston 1st (top 10 protected)

    for

    Howard
    Richardson

When you see clutch crew by the name, for your own safety you'd better take a step BACK from the keyboard. LOL.

I don't fear many people on this board, but I DO FEAR the clutch crew.

I will say there is worry. Worst case, The Rockets have lots of salary room and will completely suck. In a couple of years, that will turn into some high draft picks. The NBA is a star driven league. Trading for a great player is worth the risk especially when you think he'll re-sign since you can offer him the most money.

The NFL is for the most part a QB and depth at other positions driven league. Vikings trade would be much worse.

I tweet Jonathan Feigen and he told me this:

No word on deals but many w/team traveling to Vegas today. Delay is for players in NY trade to have physicals, complete deal for cap room.
