We could flip Dwight for anybody we wanted. Its not a risk that he might walk because we'll be holding others teams hostage like Orlando is now; if it comes to that.

He's on the radio now and is pretty much dismissing Houston... mentioned Dallas twice as much

Dwight isnt going to the one team he says he will go to willingly. Brooklyn is out of it. Dwight will have to change his thinking, and he will not walk away from the extra $25-30 million we can offer him. DH12 will come around, he is a very immature man, will grow up when reality sets in.

We tell him "no." No Howard trade. If he wants to leave, he can leave at the end of the season.

Yeah. He's not going to Dallas.
They're all going to retire in a year or two.
Their young guys are not that promising (Rodrique is overrated)

Jeez stop going after Howard. If the Rockets going to trade for Bynum, they better not give up the lottery pick or give up too much just for Bynum. Bynum I don't mind but please do not get that Diva. Why can't the Rockets just slowly rebuild this team the right way instead of trying to go for the home run every time. Every time the Rockets were successful is because they drafted a star through the draft. Sampson, Hakeem, Yao etc. Slowly build your team with young talented players and get a high lotto pick. Every good team in the league has their star which they drafted instead of the Nets.

But the Nets got their superstar because they drafted a high talent Derrick Favors. The Lakers traded for a Kobe Bryant when he was drafted, the Heat drafted D Wade and lured a Lebron and Bosh to play along side him, the Spurs drafted Tim Duncan, the Clippers drafted Blake, etc... If the Rockets drafted a young talent, they can either trade him for a young disgruntle superstar who wouldn't mind being in Houston or let him grow into a franchise player. Trading all our chips for Bynum is okay but it would not make us contenders. We don't even have a PG to begin with. I much rather have two high lotto picks for next year instead. If the Rockets just let all the young rookies and young players develop this season, they will hopefully be in the top 5 draft lottery, plus the Toronto lottery pick also.

And then we lose him for nothing.
Might as well do our best to convince Howard to stay and shop him as a last resort.

Are you forgetting about the bad contracts we would be saddled with? Those guys aren't expiring and would stat on the team even if Dwight walks away. Also there's a difference between the cap and the luxury tax. What would likely happen if we get Dwight and bad contracts is we would be over the cap but under the luxury tax. So even if we let Howard expire, we might only get around 4M capspace back.

I like it. Morey, keep doing your thang. I always disliked the Scola contract. We would still have to put somebody decent in the lineup next to him (DH if acquired) and I aint really seein it right now.

More like 'and then he ends up staying because all of the teams that could sign him suck anyway'.

    Maybe.
Or he could really show his immaturity and just sign with a team for way less money as an F U to the Rockets for not trading him.
Highly unlikely, but with Dwight nothing would surprise me.

Only thing is how much are teams willing to give knowing Howard is a half season rental?

Oh yeah, Orlando's certainly holding the league hostage. Like how they held the Nets hostage and were about to get Brook Lopez and 3 crappy first rounders as compensation?

The posters on this board are always the first ones to talk about "taking a chance" and getting risky, but then they would be the first ones raging on the board if the deal went bad.

    and then herp could derp.

I'm not counting that as likely.

btw. any team he signs with that isn't the rockets would automatically be for 'way less money'. no need for him to even ask for a smaller contract. its built in!

You never know what could be on Dwight's mind.
This is the same guy that reupped with Orlando after having no choice and then took all the praise for being "loyal" and then crapped on the city again after the end of the season.

    LMAO.

I found this part of the basketball season to be the ugliest.

Very difficult to follow, worse than watching LBJ raised the O'Brien Trophy, worse than watching zebras dictating the games.

Amnestying Scola?? WTF is going on here?
