So nice to have that 1,2 punch back, I love Boykins as much as the next guy but I wanted Kyle back. He looked tired late but he needs time to get his conditioning back. Hopefully with a couple practices he'll be back to his usual self. One thing that hasn't been talked about is how he'll be fresh coming off a few weeks rest when everyone else is tired going into the playoff push. I think Kyle will finish the season strong.
Triumphant return by Lowry. Did everything well as he always does except his shot was rusty. Unlike what some people may think, having 2 PGs really close in skill level is not a bad thing. James Harden should be starting but he comes off the bench for OKC. Either Dragic or Lowry can come off the bench, though my guess Lowry will start.
It is good to have two guys who can really drive the ball on the court together, as long as they can both also shoot off the catch and score off the ball so you dont mess up the spacing. Lowry + Dragic = Double Penetration.
I said beginning. Im not going to put him down that low. DD makes some good points once every blue moon, its just the bad ones he cant ever let go.
This is accurate. And I really didn't expect him to have his shot or bear down defensively, especially since when he came in we were up big. And to be back in game shape, it will show in his D and in his jumper. Game shape means he's got his legs. If Kyle can just get meaningful minutes until the end of the season and be ready to bring it come playoff time, that will be absolutely great for this team. As it is right now, he is still a significant stabilizing force out there and really ran the second unit to perfection, finding player after player for open shots. Kyle at 70% or whatever he is is miles better than Earl and Courtney.
IMO, don't mess with a good thing. Keep Dragic starting. He doesn't play nearly as well off the bench, while Lowry can be very good as a starter or as a reserve.
Starting Lowry could kill the chemistry they have developed lately....and he is not ready. Start Goran the rest of the year, and play them together at times....ramp Lowry up as his body gets in shape. We are going to need both in the playoffs. DD
Agreed. Especially going into the playoffs, the Rockets are going to need Dragic in a pick n roll type of game down the stretch. Lowry is a great floor general, and really is a great PG at making sure they get the shot the best shot available, but Dragic is going to be key down the stretch. No need to mess with a good thing they have going now.
