Amazing how 6 years/$42 million used to be an albatross contract. Now it's 4 years/$80 million. Inflation, folks.

Great instincts? Lol. Bobby Brown showed more promise last year than Qi did. It's well established Brown was a scrub that didn't deserve that roster spot. The difference is his name is Bobby Brown and the other is Zhou Qi. The time he's played he's showed absolutely nothing on the court, other than stupid fouls and slow basketball instincts. If this were Joey Dorsey you'd be calling for the Rockets to cut him immediately

Why exactly do we need to be patient with Qi? There are other options better than him we can look at

I watched a couple of his games in RGV, he's like a lesser Capela physically but he can shoot from the outside. Give him another year and I think he can get his body to be more like Capela.

4 pages on Isaiah Hartenstein? What's next, 8 pages on Kostas Papanikolaou? 10 pages on Joey Dorsey?

Hyper inflation. These actuaries see something we’re not seeing.

First half of 1st summer league game. Hartenstein is as advertised, tbh.

Hartenstein has been great this game, I hope he sees some minutes on our team next year.

Dude can still grow more/refine his body, but he is bringing that "dog" effort on D here against the Pacers in game 1. Helped lead us to a nice 9-0 run to take the lead going into the half.

Whatever. If you see Qi as a total scrub without hope for growth, we've got no room for discussion. And if their talent was actually equal, why the hell would I prefer Qi over Dorsey? That makes no sense whatsoever unless you're saying I'd prefer one race over another, which is simply ludicrous.

    Hartenstein:
    12 pts
    11 Rebounds
    3 Steals
    4 Blocks
    +16 plus/minus

I'm liking him and Duvall after this first game

This has less to do with inflation than it does the overall increase in worth of the NBA and it's teams.

Great footwork, good ball handling, decent touch but needs to work on his verticality.

He looks great for 20 years old

Bobby Brown is old and a dime a dozen undersized pg. Zhou Qi is a 22 yr old 7'2 center. There is no "promise" with Bobby Brown he is already a vet so it doesnt matter if he lights up scrubs he wont improve anymore in fact he is on the way down.

Zhou Qi had 10 and 5 today with +6, that is amazing improvement compared to his trash play last year. He is a project, just like most big men out there his name or race have nothing to do with it. Dorsey was already a college senior and was an undersized center so theres no point comparing him to Qi either.

Because Dorsey's not a cash cow (you can't be this slow bro). Qi has a fanbase that's been very kind to the Rockets. Basketball wise there is no potential for Qi other than in your imagination. We'd be better off resigning Josh Smith than waiting for Qi to learn how to rebound or play defense. He's too slow, he can't shoot & too skinny to play in the paint
