He has no skillset other than being tall. The only reason he's on the team is because we have a huge asian fanbase. Zhou Qi shouldn't be playing in the NBA
Probably but they have to force the issue a bit early next season. D’Antoni has to give them a shot at real minutes or else we will have a major issue down the line which will lead to playing PJ at the 5 for 48 minutes a night. One of their three young bigs needs to seperate himself and take over Nenes backup role. That’s not asking a lot.
I would say that is very important... for business reasons. That $$$ from merchandise sales in Asia could help offset any tax-related issues this team may have.
Winning a championship should be the biggest priority. If Zhou Qi is on this team solely for Asian $$$ then the Rockets should make this clear to the other fanbase that's been here since day one. That roster spot could be used for a player that can actually contribute
Dude is 7 foot tall and just turned 20. People are just in the mood to s**t on everything right now. I'm not penciling him in the playoff rotation, but him becoming a helpful player for us eventually isn't the craziest notion.
Just being real... and how much does the 14th/ 15th person on the roster REALLY contribute? Agree with you on the championship mentality tho!
[Chiken little] He better be a hidden gem, like the next Dirk, otherwise with this lack of moves, we will get nada next year. [/Chick little]
He has some skills, but he is slow, he lacks stamina and strength. If he doesn't play well in the Vegas league, he should be cut.
He is no Dirk, but he is better than Nanu, Zhou and Tarik Black. He worked hard in the G-League and made some progress.
I forget how it works now. So we still have the rights to sign him as/when we please, correct? I've seen so many scenarios with instances where the player was; draft and stash, draft and signed, undrafted and assigned to RGV... etc.
