Before all of you guys further complain, remember Tillman said we pretty much had a deal in place and spoke about how a team lacked integrity.

I am pretty sure instead of Iman Shumpert, we were supposed to get Jamychal Green and Garrett temple. Then the weirdest thing happened and instead of taking a first round pick to rebuild after trading marc gasol, they trade for Avery Bradley. I am not sure how the clippers pulled that trade off when you looked at Avery Bradley’s stats. But bradley looks good so far in memphis, however i doubt they pick up his near $13 million team option making him a free agent anyways.

That was the trade that made the lease sense in the trade deadline and of course it was the one that hurt the Rockets the most. It seems like memphis and lac dont like the rockets. Why make this trade when you should be losing games anyways?

At this point .... any deal not actually completed is just that ... it doesn't factor into my opinion on tilman .

A lot of people say we were willing to go all in for butler ... but what were the protections on the supposed 4 firsts we offered ? If they were all lotto protected then some people here would say they are worthless .

Yes, when you factor in all the rumors and how stupid the actual trade was for those two teams. And it’s pretty obvious the clippers don’t like the Rockets for signing their franchise player and causing them to rebuild. The grizzlies seem to always get fleeced by morey as well, but not really.

I know that the trades were complicated, but when the dust settled, and you discover what happened, you might then agree with @Clutch earlier in this thread when he says we gave up a lot.

We traded a Knight, Chriss, a FRP and 3 SRPs (our 2020, 2022 and a 3rd SRP that I can't identify, but probably a 2021), and received Shump and the 2021 Bucks SRP in return (The Bucks have the best record in NBA right now). (Stauskas and Baldwin first came in the deal, but we dumped them by burning a SRP.)

In a separate trade when traded SRP swap-rights to the 76ers to unload Ennis. While that isn't entirely a SRP, by itself, it basically freezes our ability to use that SRP in a trade.

Right there you can see that we gave a FRP and SPR with Knight, a SRP to include Chriss in the Knight deal, gave a SRP to purge Stauskas and Baldwin, and tied up (devalued) another SRP future trade asset by giving Philly swap rights to take Ennis.

Just because that trade would've put them over, doesn't mean they wouldn't have done following up move to get them back under.

Why would you believe rumors and the idea that other organizations are "out to get Morey" .....?

Over the simple fact of what actually happened.

Here I can play your game too ... actually Morey did talk to mem and the trade was going to happen , but tilman vetoed it to get under the tax .... and then posted a video b****ing about it to cover his tracks

Also, it seems like those two teams intentionally tried to screw the Rockets. In the NBA when you say a deal is done verbally and the small things need to be worked out and then teams begin operating as if the deal was made.

I think the NBA granted an extension for the Rockets as well to make the Shumpert trade because of what happened. It was the last trade announced well past the trade deadline the next afternoon.

Looks like fans and commentators rightfully pointing out how much of a cheapskate Tilman is to throw away assets to save money in Harden’s Wilt-esque year has made an impact. At least it’s forced the cheapskate to come out and lie to our faces.

Maybe eventually it’ll get him to spend a dime; unfortunately, too many stans out here willing to carry this guy’s water.

You have to completely forget about those late second round picks, you can buy those easily and trading them to get a deal done and save money that can be used to buy them later it’s not a big deal. You save a lot more in taxes and use that money to buy picks at the going rate.

We traded ryan anderson for all that junk. At the end of the day it cost a later first round pick to get him off the books. Well done.

lulz at calling it the Shumpert trade

    It was:
    • Knight
    • Chriss
    • Melton
    • 2019 FRP
    • 2020 SRP
    • 2022 SRP
    • 2021? SRP (some unnamed SRP I can't identify)
    for
    • Shumpert
    • 2021 SRP of the Milwaukee Bucks (which is currently the last pick in the draft)

Honestly not much fans can do to make Tilman spend anything beside completely boycott his products (The Rockets)....but we know that isn't going to happen. The NBA could do just about anything and we'd still spend our money on them. We are hooked.

It was announced without any details, but you have to have everything submitted in final by 3pm and it was not until the next day. Seems like the nba gave them time to work out the small details.

we already spent all possible cash for buying picks and the poster you are replying to was the first to point that out on this board months ago.

You don't make sense. If you are willing to buy picks, then just cut your players now, so you can have both picks and cash in the future. Cash is an Asset, too.

Teams don't attach SRPs to trades (or Cash to Onuaku and MCW) unless they are getting something back. They just cut the player, or keep them and let them expire. The only reason you attach assets to trades for nothing in return is to dump salary.

This is Trade 101 stuff I'm mentioning here...you're spinning it
