    Yeah, great staff. Top notch staff. Wonder-coach Chris Finch. And don't worry about the defense. Mike (or Daryl for him) is gonna hire the best defensive coordinator for the first time in is career. I know he wasn't in NY, LA or PHX but I promise! — he's really gonna be committed to defense this time and will bring in a top defensive coordinator!

    I'm losing it. Despite all the reports yesterday, I simply didn't believe any of this was true, it was all just too stupid to be true.......but now it seems like a reality, fml

    Now I'm depressed and I have to take a law school final in an hour, really great mood to be in for that

    Maybe Messina made a face when he heard Les laugh, but MDA was able to act like it was nothing out of the ordinary.

    None. If you don't have the right coach, who cares who the assistants are? It's the same crap they tried to pull with McHale after they inexplicably brought him back after the Portland loss. They tried desperately all summer to get former head coaches like Mike Brown to join the staff to cover for McHale's shortcomings instead of just hiring a competent head coach who didn't have a bunch of a weaknesses to begin with.

    Battier doesn't want to coach. It wouldn't work anyway, because if the head coach doesn't care about defense, none of the players will listen to an assistant.
