Diego Montoya, Princess Bride, young gangster 55 from Gangster No. 1, Crash Davis and Nuke Lalush, Bull Durham, someone make me stop...
I would not normally correct a BBS icon such as yourself, but I was thinking of adding this character to my list..... "Hello six-fingered man. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." Also, Gus McRae - Lonesome Dove (Technically, not a movie, but a great performance)
LOL! Thanks! I've been parroting that line incorrectly for years, it would seem. And as for Duval, reminds me of Kilgore, from Apocalypse Now.

Off the top of my head : John Cusack's character in Say Anything and High Fidelity Dustin Hoffman in Death of a Salesman(Maybe just because it's fresh on my mind...Hoffman is seriously underrated) Anyone from the Godfather series...Michael, Vito, Fredo, Sonny, Clemenza...incredibly likeable for gangsters. Ferris Bueller from Ferris Bueller's Day Off Either of the two main characters from the Shawshank Redemption Various war heroes portrayed in Apocalypse Now, Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Patton, and many more...I've yet to see a bad war film. Forgetting so many...

You would call that bad? I would call it an interesting effort that didn't quite work, but there are dozens and dozens of 'bad' war films, most from the 50s and early 60's.
Nope. I really can't think of one at the moment...Patton, Glory, Saving Private Ryan(Might be my favorite war film), Braveheart, The Patriot, Black Hawk Down, Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Three Kings, Lawrence of Arabia, The Alamo, even Pearl Harbor. As far as I can remember right now, that's every war movie I've ever seen.
