So, Who is your favorite announcer in the history of Houston Sports?

It can be a Play-by-Play guy (Gene Peterson, Bill Worrell...etc.)

Or maybe the color guy (Alan Ashby, Matt Bullard...etc.)

Mine is Hands Down Gene Elston (Gene Peterson is a very close 2nd though)

I grew up listening to both.

Since I moved from Houston many years ago, I have heard most of the announcers here in the northeast, Philly, New York, Washington, Boston. I still feel Gene Elston and Gene Peterson are/were the BEST announcers that I have had the pleasure of listen to.

I am talking about the days before cable and satellite. These guys were my eyes for every game.

Congratulation to Gene Elston for his LONG overdue induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame

I forgot Milo in the poll, probably subconciously. I still don't consider him a Houston sports announcer. He has been with so many other teams.

Let's just say No One could ever replace gene Elston in my book.

Max, I am the same way. Love listening to baseball on the radio.

I voted for Elston. I think Larry Dierker should be given some props. You actually learned something about baseball when he was an announcer.

    Dude does Milo suck bad.

I can't listen to home games on the radio because of him.
