So, I asked my mom what her favorite cereals were. Honey Comb, Corn Pops, Honey Nut Cheerios, Frosted Flakes. Much sweeter than my tastes growing up. She also had a fair amount of cavities. She also said that she ate a lot of Quaker puffed rice. It tasted like styrofoam she said, but she made her grandparents get it for her so she could get the toys at the bottom. They insisted she had to eat the cereal as part of that deal. I found out she's never liked Raisin Bran. We always had it in our house. I assumed she ate anything. No. She had it there for my dad. It was nearly as shocking as her revelation a few months ago that she's never liked PB&J. Yet she made it for me nearly every day for lunch for years. There are probably all sorts of things I take for granted that I know about her I'm realizing.
