We've mentioned this before when T-Mac/Yao were the main draw and two years ago when Howard/Harden combo took us to the Conf. Finals. Basically it didn't pan out with FA's. But now that Houston has a high potent offense, Harden is balling his balls off, and the whole Rockets team seems to be enjoying playing together, I think next season we could be considered one of the top destinations for: if not a big time free agent at least some bench pieces that can put us into the 60+ win category next season. Most likely for this to happen Houston will have to beat SA or GS in the playoffs, but just the thought of this makes me feel the Rockets are definitely on the up swing and not at their peak. Not to mention we are doing this with 1 true superstar (not 2.. not 3.. not 4.. not 5)
Just have to hope other stars around the league want to join forces with James Harden to beat GS, SA, CLE.
That's just it... many championship teams are molded with guys willing to take paycuts to be on a winning team. Houston could be that team next year. Imagine a bench of some stud defensive minded players that can change the pace of the game on cue.
none of the top all star FA's appear to be on the move. Guys like gallinari, ibaka etc who are not quite stars but solid players are Houston's best bet likely
I was really hoping we'd pick up Sanders so we could flip him for Brewer in the off season. Guess we'll just have to settle for Ennis again.
They all better not forget that if they snub the Rockets, it's almost guaranteed they'll immediately suffer a serious injury.
Phoenix? I thought he wanted Lakers if he couldnt stay with the Pacers. One of the main reason teams were scared to trade for him.
First of all, we got to re-sign Nene. After that, Ersan Ilyasova, Danilo Gallinari, and Nikola Mirotic would be very interesting. Maybe bring PPat back cheap. I'd also rather have Covington back than Dekker unless Dekker can get his swag back. But he looking rough right now.
No doubt! I've seen the guy rack up 50+! He's quick, has good length for a sf and has a nonstop motor - he would be deadly in our offense and provide some solid d!
Paul Milsap coming off the bench or starting behind Anderson on a valued contract for a year would get this team pass the spurs//warriors next year if houston fails in 2nd round finals or western conf. finals. Which possibly could happen if the thunder ruff the rockets up in the 1st round to 6 or 7 games due to russel westbrook. But i see rockets not getting pass spurs in 7 too if you look at the brackets, in the 2nd round http://www.nbaplayoffsbracket.com/2017/index.php
