Family Guy closes out its 9th season with a return to the chicken fight. This one is so epic, it spans over five minutes and travels through time and space.

Epic is fine...but 5 minutes? I saw one that was 2 minutes and I couldn't wait for it to end. I was watching an episode last night (re-run that I've seen quite a few times), and it almost feels like they're running out of material. Hm...we need an idea for an episode...let's send Stewie and Brian into some sort of time travel!

I don't really think they can run out of ideas. The logic behind the episodes are get really ****ed up on drugs and put random things together.

    QFT.

Not even sure if it was funny after the first time.
Unfortunately FOX aren't canceling it anytime soon and Macfarlane most likely won't end the show anytime soon. :(

The first chicken fight wasn't even the best thing about that episode. It's just a tired gag that they have no shame in bringing back for longer and longer segments.

What's next, a 2 minute spot of that pervy old guy wheezing or an epic monkey in the closet episode?

Honestly, thank god for Fox. You really can't pull this off anywhere else on broadcast television.

The first couple seasons were pretty good. These days it's probably the funniest show on network TV. Of course Louie is funnier, but it's not on network TV.

There's no accounting for taste though as we see in the cancelation of the excellent new series Awake.

Yeah, the best part was Peter getting kicked in the knee and holding it. The show is stale though.

    Not sure if serious.
Seriously? Funniest show on network tv? Come on Batman. Come on mayne!

Modern Family, Community, New Girl all come to mind.

fast forwarded through the entire thing the chicken fight was fine at first but to me it just screams very lazy writing.

the show is not nearly as funny as it used to me, it has its moments but stuff like this to sort of "fill in" time tells me the show should end real soon
