Not trying to put anyone on blast but as long as Jent can check in regularly, we should be good to go.

I’m down for a slow draft again.

He said he wouldn't have much access.

I agree though, even if only able to check in once in a while, we could at least get a few rounds done, and then ramp it up from the 13th onward.

Think Flash meant once Jent gets back we just need him and everyone else checking in regularly for those two weeks. 23 rounds, 15 days. As long as we keep up a pace of ~1.5 rounds / day we can finish on time.

Last year, for reference, it took us 17 days to finish. With no timer, from what I remember.

Ask him for his latitude and longitudes so we can call in a missile strike, you know, should we need to do that.

Ray picked keepers on the ESPN page. Hopefully we can get Jent's keepers before he is out of the area.

We will get the draft going soon. Early rounds there will be no pressure but hopefully we can make a bit of progress. Will compile all keepers and get it started over the next day or so.

I haven't reviewed all the keepers yet, but just a reminder that the keeper number must be lower than the slot number, not equal to.

For example, @Ray Martinez cannot keep Luis Castillo in the current 4-slot because his number is already 4.

I thought you said above that we'd wait until the 13th to start because Jent doesn't have access. That's what I emailed him when he suggested someone take his spot, instead. I must have misunderstood. Maybe you can clarify it with him.

BCB and I have traded - Luis Castillo for Mike Trout. Now his keepers should work under the rules:

    BleedCubbieBlue*
    Slot A (indefinite) Juan Soto - 5
    Slot B (4 max) Austin Riley - 1
    Slot C (4 max) Michael Harris - 1
    Slot D (3 max) Mike Trout - 0
    Slot E (3 max) Matt McLain - 0
    Slot F (2 max) Logan Webb - 0
    Slot G (2 max) Josh Hader - 0

    and mine:

    Slot A (indefinite) Yordan Alvarez - 3
    Slot B (4 max) Julio Rodriguez - 1
    Slot C (4 max) Luis Castillo - 0
    Slot D (3 max) Fernando Tatis - 0
    Slot E (3 max) Devin Williams - 0
    Slot F (2 max) Edwin Diaz - 0
    Slot G (2 max) Evan Carter - 0

    He told me limited access.

I don't care, though. We can start after the 13th.

So I just noticed that Opening Day Mar.28 is not actually the start of the MLB season and that the first game is actually Mar.20 taking place in Korea.

Probably going to have to schedule a fast live draft to make this work.

Oh shoot. What a weird schedule to have 2 games and then wait a week. Is there an option to skip those two games? The risk of the live draft is someone doesn't show up and gets autodrafted.

Also, I see you processed a couple of draft trades. I didn't know that was doable on the site! Would you please input the draft picks Flash and I swapped on July 3 as part of the Hicks/Phillips for Brown/Morton deal? It was his 8th for my 10th.

I never bothered using the draft pick trading feature before since I would just enter the offline picks anyway and it didn't matter, but we might need it now.

Skipping the Mar.20/21 games would basically mean skipping week 1, since they are a part of that.

It is an option, I guess.

Let's put it to a league vote:

Option 1: Slow draft starting Mar.13. Season starts week 2 (Apr.01-07).

Option 2: Fast draft next week sometime. Season starts week 1 (Mar.20-31).

I vote option 2, with potential draft date next Saturday or Sunday, but that is flexible. Would like to hear what others think.

The slow draft is better for a baseball fantasy draft. Fast is hard. We'd have to put each of our draft order into the system because of the weird auto draft scenarios that could and often do occur. And frankly, it's just hard to quickly decide in 2 minutes time frames.

But missing the first week of stats sucks for enjoying the opening week.

There's no good option. I will succumb to the consensus.

I say just stick with timed slow draft…from the beginning.

I agree, let’s stick to slow for this league.

I wouldn’t mind if it was any other sport to do an online draft.

The masses have spoken. We will stick with slow format starting Mar.13 with season start date week 2.
