Its been reported over and over again Les wanted Lin hell or high water Do you think "Mr. Analytics" looked at his stats and believed Lin was some kind of high performance high priced starter based on basically a flukey 2 weeks? Anybody that knows basketball didn't even need stats to come to that conclusion C'mon man get real
If anybody to blame, why don't you Dragic and his agents. We want him to come back to play for us, clear and loud. The fact that he doesn't want play for the Suns because HE does not have freedom to do whatever he wants is very telling about the state of his mind. He wants to play for the Lakers and Knicks. Doesn't that also tell you something. Just SMH.
Wow... we have some incredibly ****ty fans... We didn't give Dragic a player's option 3 years ago... boo freaking hoo. It already happened to so grow up a bit and move the hell along. Stop hanging on like a desperate ex and look towards our incredibly bright future with Harden and Co.
Stupid thread. Phoenix gave Dragic the player option... and he is leaving. Dragic wants to dominate the ball and he can't do that in Houston or Phoenix, he wants max money and to play in a big city. Really has nothing to do with anything the Rockets did.
This is so stupid and anyone who REALLY believes that Morey "chose" Lin over Dragic because Les made him is just being dumb about the topic. Morey spent days negotiating with Dragic and ultimately wouldn't give him what he wanted. Now, maybe AFTER that Les had something to do with going after Lin, but it certainly wasn't Les pushing Morey to dump Dragic and go get Lin. You have to believe that Morey is a self hating GM who would spend days negotiating with a player exclusively that he was never going to sign to believe that. There were two reasons why Dragic is gone: 1) Morey didn't want to mess with flexibility on his roster when he had no star players 2) Morey underestimated how good Dragic would become
Yeah, it would be funny seeing Dragic asking out of OKC because he is coming off the bench and getting even less touches than he is now.
I'm not really sure why you would make this topic and thread title. So Les Alexander and the Rox office messed up: 1. They obv underestimated how good Dragic would be 2. They overestimated Lin's ability as a pg Boo-freaking hoo! Everyone makes mistakes, I don't understand why Alexander the Rox FO misreading the whole thing translates to "Face the truth: Leslie ****ed us". REALLY? Letting an FA walk = ****ing you? WHo the **** do you think you are? You act like Alexander personally spit on your coffee when the reality is it is his team so he can basically do whatever he wants to his property. It's not the end of the world if they mess up on Dragic, he isn't a superstar so why are you so agitated? I can understand complaints against the owner and FO, they are doing a good job but they aren't perfect. But why are you acting like they messed up just to spit in your face? If you equate bad moves to personally ****ing you, then does it mean the FO blew you when DM signed Harden?
It's clear to me OP is basing his blame soley on Les's shoulders. But I thought Morey was the GM. A GM not shy on taking credit for the "low risk high reward" moves he makes. Yet somehow when he has a series of missteps or makes a blunder, his fans hurry up place blame elsewhere. OP definitely sounds like one of these fans
Morey has taken the "blame" for the Dragic situation himself multiple times on the radio explaining the issue with the player option as well as saying clearly he became a better player than they expected.
Maybe Morey wanted to tank that seasons and thought Dragic would keep us on the 9th seed tread mill That team was essentially Lin, Martin, Asik as the three stars, we weren't going anywhere with that line up
It tells me that he's fine with playing for a crummy team as long as he's getting paid. That's pretty refreshing considering all the players that pay lip service to wanting to win and then end up going for the money on a terrible team.
