Extremist Rehab...Saudi Style

    I didn't know they were doing this, but it is quite interesting to see that the Saudis are (allegedly) playing an active role in correcting some of the problems they helped create. The article highlights several important points, including how U.S. torture tactics were responsible for doubling the likelihood of extremists returning to militancy, after rehab.

    It definitely is a step in the right direction (if they are actually doing what they say they are doing) but the most important change that needs to be made is aligning the Wahabbi rhetoric along with more mainstream beliefs, from the top.

    What do you think the "clerics" in the rehab centers are teaching them?

    It's like going in circles. Their problem, initially, was that they were manipulated through Islamic texts to do what they did.

    Now they are getting rehab from those who are masters of that ideology.

    This is a giant sham IMO. These rehab centers are rewinding the clocks back to the point where the path of terrorism started, rather than the point just before that.

    Terrorists should be in jail for life. Clerics should mind their own F'in business.
