Please Mr. McNair get this done immediately. Cowher is going to get a lot phone calls from Denver and Minnesota. Houston has the best talent at every position and a starting franchise QB. Minny is going to be looking at drafting a QB this spring and the Broncos basically traded away their franchise QB (Cutler), franchise WR (Marshall), and perhaps franchise RB (Hillis), in the last two years. While We have Schaub, AJ, and Foster at each respective position.

The only problem I have with Cowher is that he will go Ultra conservative with the offense.

I'll take that trade if it means winning games.

most over-rated coach in NFL history.

Cowher has exactly 1 more ring than Kubiak does as a HC. Not worth the insane amount of money he is going to ask for.

He is a very good coach and led his teams to a lot of wins, but he did have a long stretch of very disappointing playoff runs. Of course, one would then say..."at least he went to the playoffs".

Does that mean Arian Foster will actually get to run the ball? Where do I sign again?

Exactly why is it important how much money he'll ask for? You would rather have a lesser coach on a more reasonable salary than the best coach we could hope for because we might be overpaying him?

I guess we'll just agree to disagree there..

That Steeler team that won him his Super Bowl was *not* conservative – do you remember how they scored their first TD against Seattle? I'm not Cowher's biggest fan, but any idea that he's going to run three times and punt is greatly exaggerated.

I assume you don't agree that Foster is better than Peterson. Schaub and Johnson are better than any QB/WR from Denver and Minnesota. Overall wouldn't you agree that Houston is better off at those three positions than Denver and Minnesota?

Cowher will go conservative: Myth. Ron Erhart, Ken Whisenhunt, Chan Gailey, Mike Mularkey. Those are offensive coordinators under Bill Cowher and none are considered "conservative." Particularly under Mularkey and Whisenhunt, the Steelers loved gadget plays.

The difference between Cowher and Kubiak is one superbowl ring: Myth. Bill Cowher coached for 15 consecutive seasons. In that timespan he had 3 losing seasons and 1 season of 8-8. In 9 of his 15 seasons the Steelers won 10 or more games, twice going 9-7. In his first 5 seasons as a head coach (matching Koobs) he won 10 or more games in 4 of the 5 years, with one 9-7 season.

Gary Kubiak has been a head coach for 5 years now and appears to be on pace for his second losing season in 5 years. He's also had 2 8-8 seasons in those 5 years. His best record will be one season of 9-7, which Cowher bested 3 straight years. In 15 years Cowher had 4 failed seasons. Kubiak will have 4 in 5 years.

As for the argument that Cowher got to coach the Steelers while Koobs got the Texans, in the TEN YEARS prior to Cowher taking over the Steelers they had ONE 10 win season. ONE. 5 losing seasons, including the year just prior to Cowher taking over. Cowher took a team that had been to the playoffs 4 times in over a decade with one 10 win season in 12 years and got them to the playoffs 6 consecutive years.

Please think about that. I know the Steelers have the legendary mythology surrounding them, but in the 5 years prior to Cowher taking over as coach they'd had a losing record twice and snuck into the playoffs only once with a 9-7 record. They had not been to the playoffs for two consecutive years before Cowher took over, and the year before he took over they went 7-9.

One more thing on Cowher being conservative. When his QBs played well they weren't conservative. His teams were top half of the league in 10 of his 15 seasons coached in total points and in total yards. They were top 10 5 times in points and 7 times in yards, including a high of 3rd in 2001.

Arian Foster is no Adrian Peterson. And the Texans defense is non-existent. AJ is great, but Schaub isn't anything special. Def. not a franchise QB. He has poor clock management skills.

It's hard to say what Arian Foster really is until he does it again, but right now he is playing like the best RB in football. Schaub is a very good QB.

    That's just lovely.

but he still only has one more ring than Kubiak.

Just give Kubiak 11 more years to coach here. I'm sure he could win one ring. Going to the playoffs every other year is fun, but gets a little old if you have nothing to show for it.

Which is exactly one more than all but 5 coaches in the NFL right now. Oh and Tomlin, Coughlin, and Payton all have won the same amount of championships as Cowher as headcoaches.

It seems everyone wants to ONLY hire the next Belichick, who may go down as the greatest professional football coach ever.

I don't get this logic AT ALL. So Cowher has won one championship that obviously means he will not win another or get close to it.

Romo has lead his team to three playoff appearances and two division titles and he owns every major single-season Cowboys passing record.

What has Schaub done with the so-called best NFL offense? Sucks for you.

I like Foster, but there's no way in the world you can mention him as better as Peterson. Anyone can have one good year. He needs do it over and over again.

Oh and btw, the next time the Texans make the playoffs will be their first.

Not a good time to be picky, the Texans don't have the right to be picky. They need to build a winners mentality and going to the playoffs every year AT LEAST establishes that.
