I was looking at this list. .. It's impressive. Folx may not be superstars but it says to me. . . D*MN RT adn CD can chose some talent. Rocket River U forgot E-mail and posted December 05, 1999 10:23 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know.. Chucky Brown - Spurs Mark Bryant - Cavs Antoine Carr - Grizzles Sam Cassell- Bucks Pete Chilcutt- Jazz Emanuel Davis - Sonics Michael Dickerson - Grizzles Mario Elie - Spurs Othella Harrington - Grizzles Robert Horry - Lakers Randy Livingston - Suns Vernon Maxwell - Sonics Tracy Murray - Wizards Scottie Quitten - Blazers Brent Price - Grizzles Eldridge Recasner - Hornets Zan Tabak - Pacers Kevin Willis - Raptors DAMN .. Thats alot.
And a lot of our players are better than those on the\at list. 40 Shandon Anderson 4 Charles Barkley 50 Matt Bullard 13 Kelvin Cato 11 Bryce Drew 3 Steve Francis 30 Thomas Hamilton 44 Tony Massenburg 5 Cuttino Mobley 34 Hakeem Olajuwon 6 Carlos Rogers 21 Kenny Thomas 42 Walt Williams Not too shabby
No offense, but it's not like Rudy and CD drafted all those guys. Portland has Scottie, so now they've got a great "draft staff"? We had Willis, but it's not like we drafted the guy. We had Brent Price, but we didn't draft him, either. Also note some of those guys are benchwarmers who were high draft picks (ie Robert Horry). Pete Chilcutt? Good grief. People want his head on a platter in Utah. For every one of those, there's about 2 others that other teams drafted that are still hanging around. We have Walt Williams, Carlos Rogers, Thomas Hamilton, all still in the league, but none are exactly "great talents" at this point in their careers. ------------------ Rocket fuel pumps through these veins...
Dr of Dunk, thats real cool talking about my bro Chili Pete like that. ...and oh yeah, You know and I know that Chili Pete was the best damn white player the Rockets ever had, hands down!:0 [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited December 05, 1999).]
I never Said we drafted these guys. . only we have an Eye from Talent [Talking like me RT and Cd discuss this over International coffess hehehehehe] These Guys aren't Blowing the world away but they are Making contributions.
Rocket River, You forgot: Joe Stephens (recently waived by Grizzlies), Jaren Jackson (Spur-holes)and Pete Chilcutt (Jazz-holes). Henry James (now in the CBA) also played for us before going to Atlanta. I guess the most significant player out of those players has been Jaren Jackson. But note one interesting factor about each of them: they are specialty players in that they are 3pt. gunners, play crap defense, and they were all forwards (small forwards with the xception of Chilcutt who played small and power). And that's all I have to say about that...
Interesting list, liked the way you conveniently hid Zan Tabak in there. One guy I'm suprised you failed to mention is the "Little General" Avery Johnson. His stint with the Rocks was brief and forgettable, but he's evolved into a pretty good ball player, or at least more known than Tabak Azim da Dream ------------------ "Change does not necessarily assure progress, but progress undeniably requires change." - Motto of the Houston Rockets
Conceivably you could make a similar list for just about every NBA team. Think about it for a while...
