Actually it was pretty funny. They showed a wide open Yao moving to the basket and being ignored while Steve Francis was turning the ball over. Sort of a combo meal.

Very intelligent point! Let's see, when was the last time bozo Cat or Steve shot above 45%? Why don't you tell the others not to pass them the * ing ball?

On the positive side at least Steve and Mobley may be watching. This could become a running joke if they don't improve. Sort of how the Yao update was a joke at the beginning- but Yao put a stop to that real quick. They started doing a "Ming Dynasty" update during that good streak they had. Anyways, a typical Francis dunk isn't gonna be good enough to make the highlight reel anymore!

I remember that in one game (Philly?), Mobley went 0/10 in the first 3 quarters and finally made his 11th shot in the 4th quarter. You must have the same attitude as your idols Francis and Mobley. They could shoot their way of their slumps but other players should never get the ball again when they missed 2 shots in a row.

You don't seem to get the point persian hoopa is trying to make.

WinkFan by any chance you are related to Steve or Mobley? :D

Yes, they should. Cato doesn't have to take a three. Merely feigning a drive to the hoop (Cato is good for one dribble) would pull a defender or get him into his range. If a defender steps out, then he passes the ball, if not, then he gets a short open shot. The Lakers do this all the time with Shaq--who isn't a 3 point threat. Like Calvin Murphy (I miss him dearly this season. Darn LP!!!) always notes: keep the ball hoppin' to keep the offensive continuity.

That's the whole problem with today's NBA. Any half-decent shooter who has the "right" to shoot himself out of a hole will achieve all-star status, screw the rest of the team. I miss the good old days of Dr. J, Moses and the 76ers. More team plays, no stupid chest pounding and trash talk (at least not as bad as now).

And they wonder why NBA is losing viewership.

I believe Rudy T. does not want to overload YM too much this season. That's why there are not a lot of plays for him in the game. But guards should pass the ball to him when he is really wide open under the basket. These are easy layups, no excuses!!!

They did show when Stevie got called for palming or double dribble, IMMEDIATELY after he should have passed to a cutting Yao.

What is your point? That Yao will get stuffed everytime he's wide open? Or that you prefer a 20 ft jumper off the dribble?

What makes you think they would learn from SC clips???

They haven't learned jack $hit about passing to an open man in the last 4 years for Francis, and 5 for Mobley.

What's sad is that SC bashing those 2 clowns, would prob be the ONLY thing that would convince them to pass the damn ball. They are always looking to please highlight reels.

Guys... Unfortunately Winkfan's point of view is exactly the same as Mobley's, Steve's, and possibly Rudy's.

That's why no matter how many of you or outsider mention it so many times, it won't change. The fact is:

    - Rockets utilize Yao as a role player, similar to Divac/Kandi. Yao's
primary role is defense, rebounding, and setting a pick for the
    guards.

    - Rockets is too deeply entrenched in the guards-oriented play.
We live and die with guards, nobody else.

    - Yao missed a couple of shots, guards stop feeding him the
ball. Guards missing so many shots, they'll keep shooting.

    - I know it's only half-season, but it does look like Yao Ming does
not belong in this team. Rockets may be better off with good PF.
But the problem is Rockets does not want to trade Yao, I don't
know for what reason. Maybe the world attention Yao is getting
will draw more people and cash to Rockets.

If Rudy and Rockets plan to play this way, why did they draft Yao as a No. 1 pick in the 1st place? Why didn't they just draft Amare Stoudemire as our guards' running mate? Especially Rudy seems to like Amare very much.

I think it's the other way around... Francis and Mobley do not belong on the Rockets. The Rockets have ALWAYS been a big-man oriented team until Ace and Gary (the Ambiguously Gay Duo) decided to run things their way or no way at all.

If they can't realize that the West is a big man's conference, then they are as useful as the lint in my pocket. As it is right now, they are barely more valuable than a car without an engine.

ESPN is having a ball with Stevie Franchise and I don't think it's fair to SF. Yes, it was a very dumb play on Steve's part (WTH was he thinking about?) but Steve was a major contributor to our win tonight. He more than made up for his mistakes with his 9 assists tonight

Considering the fact that it's been going on for the last 3.5 seasons, makes it hard for me to feel bad for SF. Or worry about "fairness" when we are severely underachieving.

As our so-called "leader" SF has no room to play like a selfish idiot.
