I just finished watching that movie for the first time last night, and I felt the overwhelming need to make a topic about it. HOW AWESOME IS THAT MOVIE?! The characters were all super. They all played their parts perfectly. Even Frodo wasn't that bad despite being a little whiney leprechaun. The soundtrack was quirky and heartfelt. It was the best movie of 2004, and I do not know why it didn't get more respect from the Academy. It's probably the most tolerable chick flick movie out there too! The manner in which the story was told was perfect as well. What do you guys think? Thoughts???
The actual purpose of the poll is to help reveal something about the voters personality. I'll post later what it means when you vote top or bottom or not at all.
I agree it was the best of last year. It's an absolute joke it didn;t receive more nominations at the very least. Just a beautiful and well done film with great acting.
This is like that Jim Gaffigan joke: "Hey, I just saw Heat." "Heat? I saw that six years ago..." "Well, I wanna talk about it now!"
I believe it scored a 13.893 on the JUAS (Jebus Universal Awesome Scale), which translates to roughly 97 awesomeness points. I voted for the top 'yes'- what does it mean?
I love Jims work... OH YEAH, plotless.. sorry Spotless Mind WAS A VERY VERY BAD MOVIE IMO... It was very overrated...
This was a really good movie, something out of the ordinary. I'm about to watch Closer tonight, anyone seen that?
One of my favorite films from '04, and the best thing Carrey has done to date, in my opinion. His co-star was fantastic as well. I think it's problem may have been that it came out early in the year (right?), and the movies that just make it out before the end of the year tend to have a real advantage, fair or not. Did you see it on DVD or cable? It's best seen on the big screen, which is true of everything that's decent, or superb, as this flick was. I voted "yes" with the second option, if that helps your survey. PS- We really liked Inside Deep Throat. Anyone else see it?
I absolutely loved this movie. I always appreciate it when a comedic actor can pull off a dramatic role (ie. Robin Williams, Bill Murray, Tom Hanks). I didn't vote because I just couldn't decide between the two options. What does that say about me, smart guy?
Kaufman gets better and better with his movies. I didn't like the randomness of Malkovich. I thought Adaptation was promising but the ending was hollow. Eternal Sunshine was perfect.
Well, most people voted Yes, the top yes that is, without bothering checking the other option is "yes" also. But codell kind of ruined this. As to the movie, I've watched twice in the theatre. That should say enough.
Rimmy, It is good to see you. This was really just a thinly veiled "Hey, Look at Me!" thread anyway. I feel honored that you would grace this thread with your presence. Thank You, BGM
