Its fashionable to tout the Rockets while they are winning. First extended losng stretch and the very same pundits will harp on the team's lack of talent. I wouldn't be too influenced by what anyone writes right now...
Really? Explain why? If there was a possible year to get him it would be this year. Hornets are doing bad and cutting costs, just fired their coach, CP3 is unhappy, injured ATM, and the rockets have a $23 million in expiring contracts coming off the books, AND NOLA could save more money by keeping tmac out and collecting his insurance $$.... now Im not saying its going to happen, but its not as impossible as you're making it sound
LOL Rockets fans complaining about Legler saying something good about us. He's a great, great analyst imo.
That article is a joke. Are you really going to convince anyone right now that the Spurs will not make the playoffs? I hate the Spurs as much as anyone on here, but if you really want me to believe that the "Old Sonics" are getting in before them...ill take that flippin bet right now! The only way they dont make the playoffs, is if Duncan and the rest of the team gets hurt.
Given Legler's opinions before the season started, it's almost a farce to see him reneg on his earlier opinions so quickly. He did have the Rockets easily out of the playoffs, and he did have the Spurs as #1. And now it's completely reversed...and he's STILL wrong. Phoenix and Dallas as 2 and 3 just shows that he is a pure bandwagoner and nothing else. No prognostic ability whatsoever. He's basically the NBA version of Andy Katz (in case you don't know, you can make some good coin by betting against every Andy Katz prediction).
While that may be true, I think most clutchfan members would've put the Rockets at 7th or 8th in the West. Legler put us at the very bottom. There's a big difference.
True. If not a bandwagoner, he's at least a very easily swayed/influenced individual. Suns and Mavs will cool down and eventually finish between the 3rd to 6th seed, and Spurs will definitely make the playoffs. The teams that can make the playoffs this year are the eight teams Legler listed + Spurs + Hornets. Rockets, Hornets, OKC, and Jazz will probably be the teams fighting it out at the bottom.
Yeah, I flip-flopped too. Before the season started I thought that te spurs would be the #2 seed and the rockets would just miss the playoffs. Imagine now after watching the first month of the season that our predictions would change. At least Legler is one of the few that support the Rockets whenever everyone counts us out.
LOL @ his predictions. If this is 2 happen which i HIGHLY doubt then their could be some upsets. 1 including the Suns vs. Rockets. Rockets could probably beat the suns in a 7 game series but who knows how the rosters would be during that time.
This prediction is laughable just for the fact that he has the spurs out of the playoffs completely and the Rockets in 6 spot over Jazz.
Based on 1 or 2 games? Dallas is just a horrible matchup for the Rockets. Sure, if we play them 82 times a year then we won't make the playoffs. Dallas won't make it playing GS 82 times a year. It's not a team issue, its just a matchup issue. We've stayed in every game this season besides the 2 games against Dallas.
No, based on all 15 games. The weaknesses of this team are too much to overcome over an 82 game season.

Quite a few folks here thought the Rockets would get one of the lower seeds in the conference for the playoffs, and their play thus far hasn't been all that surprising. But you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who thought the Spurs wouldn't be among the top playoff seeds.
