    You got your players mixed up. It was reported Lance Stephenson was going to Dallas, not Ariza.

    Cuban wanted to tie up our cap space with that Parsons' contract. He fully expected Rockets to match.

    Only he was outsmarted by Morey. Morey took a calculated risk on Ariza and Papa, as is his style. Cuban and Parsons were blindsided by the fact Morey could get a commitment from Ariza so quickly.

    Then Morey made DAL wait till the 3-day period was over, and they couldn't sign Stephenson.

    He didn't make them wait, he waived his right to match pretty much right after signing Ariza. They lost Stephenson because there was no money left.
