Oh, man! I don't know how many times I've watched that, but thanks. Just watched that clip about 6 more times. Glad I got to watch it live. I'm not tall, but I brushed my ceiling jumping up on that play. One of the great plays in NBA history. No doubt about it.
Yeah, many ceilings were shattered that day. "The Shot Heard Around The World" That's what it was. Actually, the real amazing story about that series was the young Dream utterly destroyed the Lakers. Magic Johnson later said that they knew he was good, but didn't expect him to be THAT GOOD. The Lakers were the Titanic and we sunk them. That was one of the most satisfying times for me of being a Rockets fan.
how do you post the actual video, as opposed to posting a link? i remember that Ralph Sampson shot came at around 1am CST....couldn't sleep until i got to school later that day.
I've posted it here before, but do you remember a network shot at one time of Riles writing on a blackboard in the locker room, just before the start of one of the games, "Contain Akeem!!!" It was the only thing on it. That was the focus for the Lakers, and they failed completely. (well, they got him tossed, lol!)
