He's not. But he is a missing piece in our championship caliber roster. While I consider him only a role player, he's a very good role player that would have helped us tremendously.
this is something you can only say after the season when they have made it out of the 2nd round otherwise it is useless to say they got better when they can't even beat their previous record.
I agree. He knew how much everyone in houston loved parsons from the fans to the front office. He studied our books and he did not think morey had it in him to basically throw away one season of contention and risk it all on another major fa signing after striking out multiple times during the off-season. Thank goodness portland beat us in the manner that they did. Trust me. It was for the best. Losing to the eventual champs in any fashion is a nice excuse to stay put. The truth is harden, howard, and parsons at the max just is not good enough to win a championship. They (the rockets) lost in the first round and allowed new playoff records to be set repeatedly.
More like a man just being honest about what happened during the off season. He dodged a bullet and he knows it. Had the rockets made an offer he liked at the time he would be making a lot less money. Not everything is about morey.
I leave this thread with this. Even parsons more than seemingly does not think he is worth the max. Is that really a player you want to have on your payroll?
Right because he left us and Morey didn't bother to find a comparable replacement who plays better defense at almost half the price.
He was a cancer and will always be a cancer. F him, F Fegan, F Cuban and F Mavs. A dump like Dallas filled with egotistical, narcisstic, showboating people and escorts and money bagging hoes is perfect for Chandler. On the Basketball court, Houston loses nothing. Ariza is on par if not better for this team at half the price. Parsons is going to let all this fame get to him. I for one am glad he is gone.
Should have never let him hit restricted free agency.. Could have had him another season for less than a mil a year...
From last night's miserable, preseason FT contest in Douche-town. Quote: Agonizing as the first-half foul fest on Tuesday had to be to endure, there was a moment to mark the occasion that even the whistles that provided the soundtrack for the evening could not interrupt. As McHale called a play with his former small forward a few feet away, Parsons asked him to repeat the call he had heard so many times through his first three NBA seasons. “You didn’t know the plays last year,” McHale said. “You’re not going to know them this year.” With that, McHale had a rare reason to smile. For most of the night, there were not many.
More and more reasons why the rockets were too immature last year to do anything positive in the playoffs.
I see you having a serious hate for dallas. I can understand the mavericks but dallas the city. have you ever lived there? Did you think parsons was a cancer when he played for us? I thought he talked to much and couldn't back up his game especially in the playoffs.
Was reading an article about Lance Stephenson and found this little nugget: "It was a domino effect," Ebanks said. "Dallas did not think that Houston was going to let Parsons walk. Lance was very close to being a member of the Mavericks. When you're a little further along into free agency, people are more in the position to pull the trigger when they see what they're looking for." In combination with Cuban discussing how the Parsons contract "created the most amount of problems" for the Rockets in the Stein article, it seems pretty clear that a big component of Parsons' offer was to stick it to Houston and burden us with that contract. I can't wait for November 22nd.

This. Talk about tldr -- I tried, but that article just never ends! All that verbiage for what I really believe will work out, roughly, at least as well for the Rox as the alternate universe Parson-stays version... Almost a non-issue in my mind, but maybe it's an interesting story... on a slice-of-life human emotional level -- is that show The View still going? Or Oprah maybe...
I believe 1) if Morey offered Parsons a reasonable contract early with less money before Mavs talked with him, Parsons would stay. 2) If Morey matched Mavs offer, Parsons would stay. Unfortunately, nothing happened.
Morey couldn't make an offer to Parsons while he was chasing Bosh. Even a handshake agreement counts against the cap.
