I think the only thing that could make the situation worse would be if ownership/management came out as not supporting McHale, so this is an obvious move.

A coach of a young team has to beat fundamentals into them. McHale has shown he does not have the ability to eliminate bad habits.

what are the rockets supposed to say to ESPN reporters?

"he's out win or lose."? in the middle of a playoff series? what a mess that would be.

obviously, they will hold off any criticism until the end of the series

It was an interesting omission. Note that they didn't phrase it, "McHale has strong support from the team's stars." But Harden is also less vocal than Howard or Parsons.

Yeah, if I recall correctly, the organization even publicly supported Rudy after the 2002-03 season ended and they'd choked and lost the 8th seed to the Suns(and missed the playoffs for the 4th straight year). It wasn't until a few days later that they reversed course and fired him....errrr, allowed him to step down due to health reasons.

Trust me, if the Rockets' season is over this time next week, McHale ain't gonna be with this organization much longer. They know this offseason is pivotal for them.

I doubt they would still support Mcfail if he lost this series.
At this point in time, this is what they want us to believe as we've got games left.

LOL! You still manage to bring Lin into this topic... This is about McHale but somehow, your trolling is off the charts.

Pretty sure Harden shooting that 3 at the end was a Harden decision. It was a mistake made by a Harden who is under a lot of pressure to produce.

If you noticed, Harden DID attack the basket but Blazer has a plan for Harden. Whenever Harden penetrate and instead of allowing Harden to look for contact, they would run backward and throwing their hands up to avoid contact and it would throw Harden off.

3's are the most efficient shots, what are you saying? We just shot very badly. And whether or not Harden goes to the line or not HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MCHALE as he isn't the one reffing the game...

Blazer wants us to double LMA because their team is one of the better 3 pt shooting team in the league. It just so happen LMA was very, very hot. If he keeps shooting like this, he can win the whole championship himself but he'll regress to the mean

I don't know how to respond to this because I both agree with you and I don't know about it.

.. I forgot that the Rockets were the youngest team in the postseason. 25.7, wow.

For this one moment, that is making me feel more forgiving towards them.

Guys the most politically correct, polite player on the team said "he deserves one more year".....

    Yeah that's a ringing endorsement.

No team is ever going to say the team is in the hot seat during the play offs, even if he is in one. The GM of Indiana said the same thing as well in regards to Bird's viewpoint.

We really won't know what the FO is going to do until the play offs are done.

Harden not being named as one of the players who strongly support McHale is interesting though. IMO, Harden will have the most important vote.

Until we hear something from Morey or Les, I would probably take this stuff with a grain of salt .

However, even the biggest McHale hater should be smart enough to realize that it's still a possibility he comes back but with some changes to the assistant coaching staff. Obviously McHale has some pull around the league and letting go of McHale won't be taken lightly.

Either way though, there is no way a major shakeup for the better DOESNT happen. However don't be shocked if he's still here at the end of the day, and they just add a high caliber assistant.

Meh, I don't think Harden has any issues with McHale. Harden has always been kind of a quiet guy with a very calm demeanor.

Didn't we already pick up McHale's option? Was that for his third year ?
