Football players should get to smoke mar1juana for medicinal reasons... I bet they would play a lot better without all the pain from previous hits and lingering soreness. They should smoke on the sidelines... ^_^
Kubiak, McNair and crew would never do it, but if it was me and the Dolphins didn't want him, I'd sign him at the right price. As has been pointed out, he can't be much worse than what we have...
it wasn't weed, it was some hollistic yoga stuff he was taking to do his hollistic yoga stuff, vishnu brahma etc
pacman went to da club with $70,000, and then wanted his money back or else his boyz would start shootin.
This bothers me to no end. It'll inevitably be chalked up as "character issues," which also drives me nuts. Being a pot head does not mean he has bad character. Ricky's a good guy; he's just a f**kin' stoner. Stupid prohibition.
He has bad character because despite multiple positive tests, he won't stop. That and he quit on his team. He may be a good buy, but dude is no doubt the book definition of a "flake".
Perhaps my comment was a bit flippant. I won't argue his flakiness, BUT.... ....case in point: Yup. Definitely....weird.
I think that 18 mos. after 4 positive tests is very reasonable. IMO, you can argue for more time for the gun issue, but not less for the 4 positive tests. But I am assuming that isn't the point of contention.
Oh, I understand the rationale behind the length of the suspension based on the current NFL rules. I just don't think a player smoking weed in his off-time is really the NFL's business, until they can prove that being a pothead helps your 40 time.
Ricky's NFLPA reps and the NFL both collectively bargained that it is the NFL's business what he does on his own time and I am sure that won't be changing any time soon. Its not always about "performance enhancing".
So much for that experience... I hope the league reviews the play. It looked to me like Timmons did it on purpose. Sucks for Ricky. I was hoping he'd do well...
