I miss ESPN. I used to enjoy that station but they have been pushing liberal logic too hard. Now it's comedic.

I don't really see anything liberal about this logic. Irrational reaction to someone based on their name happens on both sides -- probably more so on the conservative side frankly. And ESPN making an announcer switch in the hopes of avoiding a fuss about it is a business decision that backfired horribly. I could see them doing the same if there was a terrorist attack and they silently switched an announcer with a Muslim sounding name. And then you'd have the other side raging over it.

Calm down folks. Apparently he asked to not broadcast the game. That being said, ESPN is still shitty

I think if this switch had happened without leaking, nobody would have paid any attention. I mean, who really pays attention to the who broadcasts which college football game on TV? Especially a William & Mary vs. Virginia (two teams ranked outside top 25) game shown on WatchESPN.

So, this is about some personal choices that got out and a massive reaction of WTF? Life on the internet.

ESPN initiated the request, not Lee.

All of Bob Ley's Outside the Lines Reports have been scrubbed on Youtube. Name too similar and counter-protesters are considering toppling his birdbath outside of his Bristol home.

It's a personal choice. It's not that big of a deal.

Too often, probably seemingly non-ill-intended or even good-intended actions or choices from the private sector or from some person get blown up. This also somewhat apply to the public sector.

Way too sensitive, and way too reactive.

and I'm not just talking about this, but overall most things

so they would have us believe they didn't do it to be PC, they did it because they thought that a switch would AVOID memes/jokes?

I am not sure which excuse makes them look dumber as the switch has obviously led to memes/jokes

    1. Given the latest info, there is no real bad act on the part of ESPN.

    2. I don't think this hurts Robert Lee professionally, nor would the "jokes and memes" hurt him professionally. He just became 100 times better known than before and not for anything negative on his part.

In the end, it's up to Robert Lee. It's his life.

The only people who look dumb are the idiots who have given this more than a second's thought and are now offended by it.
