http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/44989/sources-raptors-shopping-pick-for-forward FWIW the Grizzlies GM was on the radio earlier saying he'll be interviewing Harrison Barnes among other prospects at the combine. Barnes may not be there at #8, but from what I could gather (and I missed most of the interview) the Grizzlies very much much would interested in trading Gay for a high pick.
By the way, re: the Grizzlies GM comment, for those who don't know, you're allowed to interview 18 prospects at the combine and it's not unusual for teams to interview players who're projected to go much higher than where the team is slotted, as you usually can bring guys you're projected to go in your range to individual team workouts.
unless a team is trying to dump salary, the #8 pick should not be enough to get an "elite" player at any position
the grizzlies should try to jump on this. rudy gay for derozan, ed davis, and #8 pick. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6plx2f9
If we don't offer Parsons, you can count us out of this one. No one fits the description, remotely . . . unless they take Marcus Morris. I wonder what they'll say at Morris for #8 pick.
Sorry, the article said "8th pick" and then "Rudy Gay" and that's when I blacked out.... trigger words. What did the rest of the article say?

Damn who knew passing on Rudy Gay would hurt this much We give up the #8 pick for Battier, and years later, Rudy Gay is still worth a number #8( thats including his insane salary)
