They're capped out and have few assets. And most of their main players are in their prime already and probably won't improve much. Most likely they will be as good in 3 years as they are right now which doesn't look like a championship squad. This is a ranking of future prospect, not right now.

first ESPN ranking i can recall that seemed correct. curiously enough it has us about middling. you know, mediocre ...

bright side? always better to be average with younger guys.

One could argue Scola's defensive liability mostly checked his offensive contributions.

Dalembert was very good when he showed up, but 2/3 games he didnt.

Lowry is certainly a loss, and Lin will have to play at or near Linsanity levels for that to be a break even swap.

    Kmart is still here.

    -------- -------- --------

I do think it will take a bit of time for chemistry to establish itself with Lin, Asik, Lamb, Parsons and DMo. Hopefully, we wont have dug too deep a hole in our W/L record by the time it does develop. But it is also true that 2-3 of these guys may not emerge as substantial assets for the 2012/13 season, and perhaps not at all.

We could could win 25 games or 45. So much is uncertain.

at first it screamed out "MEDIOCRITY!"
but now i realize, being the 14th best team in the league with this group of players..that's really really good. we have such a young team, they will only get better, if we get the 14th pick again next year, i'll be a little disappointed, but i will be far from angry. because if we're the 14th best with rookies, how good are we going to be in 3/4 years?
