Parsons has said a lot of dumb things but this isn't one of them.

The title of thread is not what Parsons said in the OP at all.

Lot of salty Rox fans in this thread. Why is everyone so obsessed with Dallas??? Let them do what they do and we will do what we do, but a lot of stupid comments in this thread.

I find it hilarious how Parsons keeps talking about wanting the ball in his hands. Last year he was whining about wanting more plays where he's the ball-handler, and now this year he's almost going to be forced into more of a ball-handling role.

I'm going to enjoy seeing Parsons with the ball in his hands all the time next year.

Parsons better ball next year or he's going to start catching heat from Mavs fans.

Parsons is certainly right that those two guys (if healthy) give him the best opportunity to shine. Which is clearly his definition of "best 5 and 2".

I think Parsons has a higher opinion of his ball handling skills than Carlisle does. And while they might try out the whole point forward experiment for a while, I suspect it won't last except as an occasional offensive wrinkle.

    I love these comments.

On one hand, what do you expect Parsons to say? He is a Maverick. He is supposed to be excited about players that the Mavericks sign. And with good reason- Matthews (assuming he is healthy and able to return to form) and Jordan are both good players. I don't know what the Mavs are going to do to fill their other glaring holes on that roster, but the 2 and the 5 should be a strength of theirs.

On the other hand- seriously? I mean, seriously? Harden was undeniably the best 2 last year and was in the top 3 or 4 of best players in the entire NBA last year. Howard was arguably the best 5. No one in their right mind would say Matthews was the best 2 and Jordan might be mentioned in the best Center conversation, but I don't think anyone would rate him that high.

So let's see. Houston has the best 2. And the best 5. But somehow they have the best 2/5 combo?

Of course he was going to say that. He isn't gonna say the Rockets have the best players of all time. He is a freaking MAV. He is no longer a Houston Rocket.

Everyone was labeling Jordan as being the next best center.. now that Jordan wants to have a bigger role in the offense the world will realize that Deandre Jordan has less post moves than Dwight does...

I can't wait for Houston to take Dallas on this year, it'll definitely be fun to watch.

Different players. Matthews is (or at least was before his injury) a much better defender and shooter. Ellis is a better ball-handler, driver and pure scorer.

That's great but would DJ and Wes say the same about Chandler?

It didn't take me long to realize that this board is full of people just dying to get some sand in their vagina. Taking a benign statement that is pretty routine in nearly any interview and misquoting it in an attempt to get everyone's insecure panties in a collective wad is ClutchFans 101.

There is a reason that, around the league, our fanbase is looked at as being so pathetic.

    Man, this deserves repeating.

If you don't like the board then leave. Nothing was misquoted. I posted the quote and the link right there. I didn't change the words.

Don't think he's exactly trolling the Rockets, but he is throwing some red meat for Mavs fans. He has always been a people-pleaser.
