I guess I'm in the minority because I think he's easily a top ten player. He can defend any position, scores at 17 a game, rebounds at 8 a clip, dishes 2.5, steals, above average 3 point shooter. What doesn't he do? True, he's not a superstar, but nobody below him is either, counting dwight.
Marc Gasol top ten? Stop it. The love has gone too far. The man is a career 14/8. Nvr averaged more than 14 ppg before last season. Only average efficiency on 11 shots pg.
actually I agree on both of these points - I think both are amazing players and easily top 20 but I am not sure if they are top 10. Gasol was a DPOY but didnt even make the First team that year (actually two other centers - Joakim and Tyson made the first team) and Kawhi won the award despite missing a lot of time last year. Can either of these guys carry their team the way a guy like the others do? I dont believe so. Kawhi is a good scorer but isnt a creator for others. He is so great defensively that maybe that makes up for it but if Kawhi is literally the new age Scottie Pippin without the playmaking IMO. Again top 20 but top 10 I dont know about that. (if Wiggins continues his current trajectory I think he'll be better than Kawhi by a good margin)
I think the top 10 is as it should be. Both Gasol and Leonard are top 10 players. Leonard may not be a great scorer but he's the guy who wins you games and championships and steps it up when it counts. Can't say the same for Cousins. As for Gasol he is there for being a DPOY caliber player, who can do everything. Almost every center nowadays is mostly one way but Gasol is the whole package. If Cousins was a top 10 player he would have taken his team once in the playoffs. Not even win one round just take them to the postseason. We are still waiting.
wow so ESPN has blake griffin at 9 with leonard yet to be revield. Cmon now you guys can't seriously think Leonard is better than blake griffin? Imo Leonard is not top 10 but it looks like the idiots over at ESPN think this guy is atleast top 8. Smh blake griffin is a stud was the best player in the playoffs went head to head with Leonard and out played him and his team won.
