That is going to happen after 20 games with the Knicks anyway. Does he want the media scrutiny to follow him when he's averaging 14 and 7 during a losing streak?
really does seem like it at this point. I guess i will feel releaved when Lin finally goes off the market. Public comments aside, Lowry's tough-nosed attitude is good for our young team as long as he and McHale can co-exist.

The problem is that they would be 6 million over the cap in this scenario. So the real question is are they willing to pay and extra $24 mill over four years in tax to keep Lin? Or unload someone else?
Which has never proven to be a deterent to the richer teams, even though the new CBA has bigger teeth, whether it is effective is completely conjecture at this point. And they would have 2 years to get under the cap before Lin's salary gets out of hand - heck they could trade Amare and get it done, if Joe Johnson can get moved, Amare surely can as well. Morey seems to have put far too much value in this new CBA stopping teams from matching, I suspect he is about to get a good dose of reality upside his own noggin when teams match his deals and fans are standing outside his office with pitchforks going...ok....NOW WHAT?
Paying a lot of luxury tax will not deter NY from matching our offer. This is the same team that paid 40 mil for one year of coaching from Larry Brown. New York won't even blink.
I like how Morey thinks. If the Rockets can not get whom they want then it will cost the next team so much more. Also would Dragic have agreed to a back loaded contract?
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Jeremy Lin and the Rockets still discussing parameters of an offer sheet, league sources tell Y! Sports.
Alvaro Martin: YahooSports: #HoustonRockets and #JeremyLin going over fine print of an offer sheet at this hour. #NewYorkKnicks can match it until July 14. about 14 minutes ago
When NY matches our offer at least we'll be getting a nice kickback in luxury tax revenue in a few years. Same thing with Asik, probably. With Nash going to the Lakers and Miami continuing to spend, Les will be swimming in tax revenue.
Can we use that pick from Toronto as the under-the-table deal to make sure the Knicks don't match lin?
