Harden should watch the videos of his defensive lapses, that would put him in better spirits.

Compare his numbers to Harden's last four seasons, and Harden compares very favorably offensively.

They're both garbage on defense, but Harden put together one average campaign last year. Melo has never been an average defender.

Is it time for a newer compilation video of Harden's defensive lapses? ;)

yet another person who thinks numbers tell an entire story. even then your statement of harden even at his worst is much better than melo ever was is completely false.

He had three first round exits and one WCF appearance. He had a decent roster around him and a great coach. So basically he had what Harden had plus a good coach, and his efficiency and defense were worse.

In your version of Melo's storied 2007-2010 run, did you forget the part that he only made one deep run only to get bulldozered by a Lakers team that lost 2 games to a Yao-less/McGrady-less Houston Rockets?

so with all that said Harden at his worse which is pretty much at this moment is on the outside looking in on maybe a 40 win team. Yeah Id say that's not "much better" than Melo ever was.

Melo and Harden come from the same ilk. Both are known to love the extravagant NBA lifestyle. Both are known to not condition their body to be at elite level shape. Both are known to be one sided players that put little to no effort on defense.

Harden is much better than Melo ever was and it's not close.

Melo couldn't win with Billups, Nene, Afflalo, Lawson, Birdman, JR Smith and Kenyon Martin. Which is a MUCH better supporting cast than anything Harden's ever played with.

This. Melo, in 2008-9, had a very good Chauncey Billups, prime Nene, serviceable K Mart, JR Smith, Birdman and Linas Kleiza, under the tutelage of an all-time great coach in George Karl, and he couldn't get it done.

lol the :rolleyes::rolleyes: emotes are so salty.

It's fine man you just quoted that Melo's 2007-10 run was so amazing and don't look at the numbers they are misleading etc..., let's all petition Morey to trade Harden ASAP, maybe Goran Dragic is available? 2011 was a great year.

    This is a dumb argument.

what's dumb is your claim that Harden at his worst is much better than what Melo ever was. its just amazing the kind of ridiculous comments that are thrown out here without even the slightest sense of being realistic, especially since they don't have rockets on their jersey.

    Right.

His best season in that stretch was 2009-2010, where he scored 26 points on 22 shots a game (46%), posted a negative DBPM, had an assist rate about half that of Harden's, and all this with a much better coach and a great supporting cast around him.

So Harden's worst - scoring 24.5 on 16 shots a game with a neutral DBPM anda 26% assist rate, while making the 1st round with an awful surrounding cast and an awful coach, was actually pretty impressive in hindsight.

    But whatever you say buddy.

Melo is fool's gold. Harden may prove to be fool's gold, but the writing is far from on the wall. Melo never came close to posting a season like Harden did last year. Melo was never more than a fringe MVP candidate.

At least with this lineup a .500 record wouldn't be underachieving.
