Lowry was a backup on a non-contender that got the full MLE... And selling low on T-Will now is terrible. You've invested this much in him; you'd best pick up his option and let him succeed or fail over the next two years rather than throw away one of the only lottery tickets the team has to contention after 10 games with a Coach who was fired.
I've been saying it all along, we always do s**** thats helps others or make no scense why cant we be the ones recieving dhoward or djordan, someone explain that to me
We were looking at contending with Yao still in the picture. And Lowry was a huge part of the 09-10 team and had a higher ceiling than Lee has right now. I just don't see Lee's impact and potential on this team warranting a full MLE. And I guess you're just way more optimistic about T-Will than I am. I think he has the least likelihood of putting it together than all our other busts. And even if by some small chance he did put it together, I definitely don't see him as a savior that could put us into contention. Homeless man's Iggy at best.
Just give me a little bit more and I'm OK with it. Either Martin or Lee's got to go, anyway. Same problem we've had with Scola and Landry. The problem is that Kaman's so-so and the picks come so much later.
I don't know if you'll like it any better but that article is Hollinger's potential trades for Paul or Howard and he does offer up a deal where Houston gets Chris Paul. Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza to Houston for Chase Budinger, Kyle Lowry, Marcus Morris, Luis Scola, and the better of Phoenix's, Houston's or New York's 2012 first-round pick. Would CP consider Houston? An offseason magnet for NBA players for reasons that utterly escape me, it's not beyond the realm of possibility ... nor is it insane to think Houston, like Boston, would consider acquiring Paul as a rental. As for the trade itself, the Rockets have a lot of good assets and no great ones, which is a bit problematic. The draft picks are fairly alluring (I only put one in this deal, but Houston could include as many as four first-rounders), the players less so. Budinger has the best contract in the league, making $900K each of the next two seasons, but he may not be a long-term starter. The other assets have some value, too: Scola lets the Hornets fill David West's vacated spot; Lowry is an underrated bulldog who can take over for CP at the point; and Morris provides a lottery combo forward to further the rebuilding. Plus, it's fun to watch Houston and New Orleans bat that awful Ariza contract back and forth like a tetherball. Alas, there are no future All-Stars in this haul for the Hornets, which is why I file it under "highly unlikely." But it won't be from a lack of Houston trying.
Thats a yes trade. Paul / Llull Martin / Lee Ariza / Parsons Patterson / D-Mo ???? / ???? With money for Howard. Any trade that lands Paul or Howard while keep money open for the other and maintaining good players at the 2/3/4 spots is a no brainer yes.
This trade proposal stuff is always like a 5 year old's pipe dream... "hmmmm let's put a super star here but wait, oh Houston doesn't need a superstar, let's just gut their roster and give them one OK piece. Yeah, that's a good idea. YEAAA. DWIIGGHHTTT in LA."
i don't think i would give up Courtney Lee if we cannot get Howard. i would only make a trade if we can get Dwight Howard to join or team because he is such a great player and I am sure he can fit in with our team.
I would not want to give up Marcus Morris and I would not want Ariza back. I would ask to amend the trade like this. Houston gets: CP3 and Emeka Okafor NOH gets: Scola, Lowry, Bud and Terrance Williams plus the better of New York or Houston pick Houston would have to waive Hasheem Thabeet via the amnesty rule in order to get far enough under the cap to make this work. Houston would do it becuase it would get a true superstar to team with Kevin Martin in the back court with a starting rotation of: Chris Paul Kevin Martin Marcus Morris Patrick Patterson Emeka Okafor Obviously Houston would be betting that Morris can play the Small Forward position. This also gives PatPat a chance to take over the starting spot on the Power Forward position. Okafor would be the old man on the team at only 29 years old. With Pat, Okafor and Morris in the front court the Rockets might actually have defense that can defend the front court. NOH does this because it gets them some very good talent and a 1st round draft pick plus pushes them more than 3 million under the cap. If they waive Ariza via the amnesty rule they would have about 9 million under the cap to grab another free agent. They are currently 10 million over the cap and not players in free agency.
I would wish Morey was fired if this trade happened. If we wanted the caveman we could have had him in a trade already. And those picks would be worthless. And we would be making a western opponent that much stronger. No thanks, screw that.
