Good point. Ricky Davis isn't the brightest guy, so that could be an issue.

There are teams that will take him ONLY if he shows any desire, like he did in Dallas. There are contenders that need frontcourt help, so we'll see. At this point Juwan Howard is probably more valuable then Walker. At least Howard plays hard and has a good attitude. Walker is just lazy.

overrated jack em up player traded for overrated jack em up player = wash

Wade is going to be a lonely guy this season, he may just be the new Garnett in the near future where he can't get a viable supporting cast (Shaq is on the downside).

Attempt # 2 to side track.

Hard to defend Antoine Walker isn't it?

    Posted on 10/22/2007 by RocksMillenium...

Posted on 10/24/2007 by ESPN. (timing is just beautiful....)

"Minnesota initially balked at taking back Walker in the deal, sources said, but it's believed that the Heat will send the Wolves at least one future draft pick to push the trade through."

Ouch! Dammit!! Even McHale had to think twice about getting this quality player!

He gets piled on further by pretty much everyone on this thread.

Hey! On the bright side, you can watch your two "quality" players, Walker and Juwan together, in action on NBA league pass when Rockets begin to bore you! Schweeeeet!!!

The Timberwolves got some young talent in the trade with Boston. Doubtful that any will rise to the Wade, McGrady, Duncan etc levels.........but still valuable enough to not risk contamination from Walker. Some people have mentioned the pick in the trade. It has been listed as a conditional first round pick and if Walker manages to derail just one of the young players already on the Timberwolves roster, then the future pick won't be a gain after all.

Ricky right now is better than Antoine at any point in his career. And let's not judge a book by its cover stereotype him as a dumb street thug -- he comes from a middle-class college-educated background and is a really nice guy.

What a disaster. And they were in the WCFs just a few years ago. All they had to do was put some quality players around Garnett, and instead they jump at the chance to trade him and save a few bucks.

I clearly hit a nerve and you're staying up late at night thinking about a thread that was made days ago. Get over it already, you're starting to look weird and pathetic.

I wouldn't be suprised if they just buy out Walker.... he's got a year less than Blount does on his contract, I believe.

I don't think they will. If they won't buy out Howard I don't see them buying out Walker.

Differeent situaton. Howard is a good team guy/mentor even if his game has diminished and even when he's not exactly happy with the team (see Denver Nuggest stint). You don't have to worry about him poisoning team culture.

Walker, on the other hand, is a lazy slob without an work ethic.

Great point, I didn't think of it like that. Minnesota is a very young team and they want a solid veteran like Howard to work with the young guys.

Howard is likely on his last contract and probably wouldn't agree to take less money.

That might be true. If that's the case then it's partially Howard's fault he isn't on contender. He has had a couple of multi-million dollar contracts PLUS a 100 million dollar contract, so he definitely has the money. So take less money in a buyout and chase a championship.

I'm not judging him as dumb, just as a very selfish player who vastly overrates himself (even by NBA player standards) and often doesn't do what his coach tells him to do. Riles will break Ricky Davis in half if he tries to do his own thing with the Heat.

    Sidestep #3.

    Typical RocksMillenium.

I didn't think you, or anyone for that matter, could defend Walker.

Wow, Howard and Walker on the same team..imagine:

    SF - Walker
    PF - Howard

it would be one of the softest forward combos in the history of the NBA..jumpshooting forwards with no post game and piss poor defense.
