Steve Tyler did tweet that Rockets are the team most interested in Gay. It's on the very latest page of the Cyberx thread
I have no idea who Mr. Young Footwork, but I'm curious. DeMarcus Cousins? But he's no longer young. Not really.
Ha, I knew I should've checked. I was thinking 27 or 28. I know he was drafted young but it still feels like the dude's been in the league forever. So, maybe this Young Footworks is Cousins?
Surprised they have us over the Mavs, their starting 5 and coach seem more dependable. Bogut and Barnes will massively help their defense. With Carlisle as the coach they will always be among the league leaders in offense. Grizzlies should be a little higher, healthy Gasol and Parsons should give them at least an extra 5 wins. Jazz have the talent to fight the Grizzlies for the 4th spot. Balanced roster, strong defensive identity and now they have a full bench. Not that high on Portland personally, but pundits seem to expect substantial organic improvement from their young core. Ezeli will help cover their defensive weaknesses. I'm a bit skeptical on the Thunder, not sure if Westbrook can lead them to the playoffs and I don't see Oladipo as a great fit next to him, especially given Oladipo is in a contract year expecting the max. Kanter as the best 3-point shooter in the starting line-up is not a recipe for success in the pace and space era. Teams below the Clippers are pretty close in talent and a lot will depend on chemistry, luck, injuries and in-season changes to the roster. We have a chance at the 4th seed if most things go our way (Harden giving us a peak season, Gordon/Anderson playing 4200+ minutes, trading for back-up PG, Capela improving, someone in our roster emerging as a serviceable back-up to Ariza etc), but 7th to 9th spot is a reasonable expectation.
Sounds about right to me. We're a middle of the road team. The organization won't commit to a rebuild but also won't go all in on winning which leaves the team stuck in the middle which is where you don't want to be. 41-41 sounds about right. Just enough winning for the fans to come out and spend money.
I think it's clearly Embiid. He's young. He's had work done on his foot. He went to Kansas like the FOE guys (Morris twins). Maybe I'm taking crazy pills.
I agree with the poster about T. Ross as the earlier players. And Embiid looks right to me, too, as FOE is the Morris' The Tournament Team. Chalmers went to Kansas, does that matter? Xavier Henry, Hinrich, McLemore, Ouebre Jr. among others from KU.
If it is Embiid, what's his upside ? I don't know much about him and since he hasn't played I have no gauge of talent. What would a FAIR trade for him looking like ?

OK, here's my stab at this: NN=Nerlens Noel Mr. Young Footwork= Jahlil Okafor (everyone's always talking about his footwork/post moves) Bird/big/tweener who can shoot= Paul Millsap (Hawks, tweener) No Mediocre-Amber Rose lover w shoe addiction = Nick Young. No Mediocre is an Iggy Azelia song, Amber Rose was mentioned in the Deangelo Russell videotape, and he's known for his shoes (even wears Yeezys during games from time to time)
Embiid, if he is healthy, has amazing potential. He can play both ways, has nice footwork in the post, and can stick a jumper. His potential would be a combination of Okafur's offence with Noel's defence. Philly would be nuts to trade him unless he is damaged goods. In which case, his potential is nowhere near what I just described.... I wonder though, even if his foot isn't right and he's lost something, if he is still worth a shot? Could be a double double guy with 2 bpg still? Philly might think that, since he's been out 2 years, they'd rather go with known commodities, and give Saric the chance to grow at the 4?
Nah Jazz are about right, I'm surprised they put HOU above DAL , I really hope HOU can prove the haters wrong this season but I'm just not overly excited about this past offseason
Mr. Young Footwork can't be Joel Embiid. First, Joel is much too valuable to trade for the Sixers as he still has the most upside from the three centers. Second, Joel is full #TrustTheProcess and Cod states that the guy clearly wants out. Sounds a lot like Okafor. I'm not a fan. We would really be a terrible defensive team with no rim protection. Teams with quick guards and forwards who slash will kill us. No Medicore-Amber rose sharp shooter with a shoe addiction can be either Young or Ross. Ross would be a bit more ideal since he's a better shooter, but problem is that he will be a RFA and could command a lot of money. It'd be worth it though if him and EJ stay healthy to add shooters to the bench. Young isn't nearly as good of a shooter, but he has ties to James. He has a PO next season which he may or may not pick up. No idea who one of the birds is, but when Cod says the dream it seems like it's a pipedream. Something that we'd love to have. A player who would fit in greatly. Millsap? Seems unlikely as we don't have anything Atlanta would want. Jrue Holiday? I doubt it as well because when he's healthy he's still a good defensive guard. Tyson Chandler? Phoenix is a bird. He seems possible, but could he really anchor our defense now at his age? What would Phoenix want? I can see Eric Bledsoe also being a dream, but again we have nothing. Brandon Knight also may command a lot. Could it be Kyle Korver? He fits our system great. Atlanta isn't in a great position with a bunch of its players about to hit free agency next season. Could they look to replace Korver with a player who has a more long term contract? So teams to look out for will always be Phoenix, New Orleans, and Atlanta. These team may or may not be having fire sales. Phoenix seems the most likely with Tucker, Chandler, and Bledsoe/Knight.
Terrence Ross is already signed at $10,000,000 per season for three more seasons. Sounds like a Morey "steal what is now a cheap contract" sort of thing. EDIT: Not saying, "He's our guy." Just saying, "Once I thought he was making too much money. By this summer's standards, he now looks like a pauper thanks to the contract he signed a year or so ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if Morey, who comes across as a 10% tipper, is interested."
