You don't have to trade for josh smith. He is a free agent. They can trade Asik for draft picks or Eurostash and then sign Smith with cap space.
Is it too early to start the Omer Asik Appreciation Thread? I wish the guy well, and have no doubt that he will have a long and successful NBA career, and I don't blame him at all for not wanting to return to the bench after a successful year as a starter. I hope he nets us Smith or LMA.

Where he would be a backup to Noah again. So he's not unhappy over that role? The Rockets just can't find a taker for Lin's contract?
Is nobody else tired of the ridiculous LMA talk? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Omer Asik is absolutely not going to be enough to trade for Aldridge. AND they just traded for Lopez.
I don't blame Omer a bit, but he's still under contract. We'll have to see how this plays out. I expect that we'll trade him, but who knows with Morey?
No go. The only reason CHI was willing to contemplate trading Noah was if they could do it for LMA, assuming they could replace Noah with a good center. They certainly aren't willing to trade Noah to get back Asik if they don't get LMA.
He was clutch, hope we could keep him as backup. Dont see why he wouldn't want to stay on a team that is contending for a championship.
My guess is that he would start alongside Noah -- not sure though, it is curious. Also, not sure what that trade would consist of, unless they were part of a three team deal.
LMA is perfect for our team. JSmoove is not. Hopefully Morey didn't have to promise Howard that JSmoove is coming after Dwight signs on the line.
