A lot of these Stuart Scott catchphrases had been around the playground for years. Stuart however was the only one who had the balls to say them, knowing that he'd be judged for it as "acting black." Stuart was one of the few high profile celebrities willing to be himself without shame. Contrast that with Colin Powell's statement: I ain't that black. And you can see how brave Stu was. He was making himself a lightning rod.
Best to ever do it sportscenter I remmeber the espn highlights after shaq and yao played the first time... And after yso blocked shaq the second time in the first quarter... Scott said, "Ugh i aint gon say nothing but that aint"
Yeah for sure, along with Rich Eisen, they definitely took sportscenter up a notch for me. Shocking news.
Yeah, you could tell Scott van pelt really cared for the man. He was clearly well liked by his peers.
He will be missed. I remember getting into Sports Center when he was one of the main anchors. I always enjoyed his enthusiasm and unabashed style of broadcasting.
Tragic. The piece about him made me teary but it also made me a little uncomfortable. That sure was a whole lot of old white people talking about how he brought hip hop attitude to the business. Kind of awkward.
True, just watched it and nearly cried. R.I.P, fought til the end. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/K9cSX5XPY70" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
