Is there anywhere to actually watch ESPN 3D in public...like a bar? I really want to see the skateboard big air in 3D tonight.

I've never seen 3D TV. Anyone? Is it even worth it? Curious...

I took part in a 3D study here in Austin for during the World Cup. It is pretty cool. I know a movie theater aired the World Cup Final in 3D, not sure which theater or if they are doing the same for X games...

    just do a search

3D tv especially sports aren't worth it. You will not be able to capture the 3D with lots of movements. 3D are obvious on settle movements.

I saw the soccer and football demo in 3D. Totally not worth it. Because most of the shots are long shots so and the depths aren't prominent. It makes players look even smaller onscreen like you're watching the game far far away.

I tried to get in on that study but never heard back from the people. I guess the response was pretty big. I know the email went out to everyone associated with AMSA.

Yeah I didnt hear anything either for a while either, I decided to call them and they set me up for like games for a week straight.

I have to disagree with the poster above. 3D for sports is great, I got to watch on a Panasonic and a Samsung. The Panasonic was ok but the Samsung was unbelievable. The depth perception of the crowds, the spacing of the players, and the vivid colors were all quite remarkable. I would watch all my Rockets games in 3D. Sports and action/heavy special effects/sci fi/cartoonish movies are great for 3D viewing, not much else.
