What's with all these Turks wanting to be traded? They seem to be a disgruntled people. Not as bad as their neighbors, the Greek, but still...
It annoys me when players do this, they sign their nice juicy contract which their scrub teams and then try and force a trade to a contender. SMH, if you want to go to a good team don't take the 8+ million salary you know no one else but the bucks will give you and sign a cap friendly deal with the team you really want to play for
Couldn't agree more. Players like this should put their money where their big fat mouth is and sign for less on a better team. They crashed and burned to finish the season last year, then lost their 2 top scorers. He was expecting this year to be anything but awful? He's lucky the Bucks lost their mind and paid him $40 million to start with. Just shut up, play and leave it on the floor every night! Then maybe another team might want to trade for you despite that anchor of a contract.
I agree. I think stuff like this is one of the reasons the NBA isn't as popular as it should be. Look at how often this happens; from stars to role players you have everyone demanding trades because of something. How often does that happen in the NFL? Maybe a few guys a year. But the NBA runs on speculation (where's Melo going? Who will they trade Rondo for? etc.). It only reinforces the public perception that professional basketball players are over entitled and whiny. And that hurts the league.
I tend to agree, but on the other hand teams dump bad contracts all the time with no regard to a players preference. Should teams not be allowed to trade away players that are not living up to their contract since management was stupid enough to give out said contract? Just a thought...though I'm annoyed as well
Ilyasova couldn't stop the team from crashing and burning, and he couldn't stop management from trading away Jennings and Ellis (who are now doing pretty well on DET and DAL, respectively). Even though Knight was a solid add, they lost too much offense in Jennings, Ellis, Dunleavy and Redick all leaving. Couple that with giving huge money to Sanders (and him being injured), and the downward spiral of MIL is pretty harsh. I do agree that he shouldn't have talked about this publicly - definitely just shut up and play ball. It's not like you're on the caliber of a top player in the NBA. tl;dr? Ilyasova has every right to feel this way, as MIL's FO is garbage, but he shouldn't have said anything.
Done! We will take him in exchange for Lin... and the alaphbet...and their first round pick this year.
Make all contracts non guaranteed like the nfl and players like illyasova would keep his mouth shut and play hard because if he sucks his ass is going to be cut and he won't make all that money.
If they give us that name-who-are-not-meant-to-be-spelt. Lets do it. Give them Asik. Angry turk for unhappy turk.
