Eric Gordon : 2017 NBA All Star Weekend 3-Point Shooting Contest Champion

He is hurt, ain't he? Or was he not even allowed into the event while he was healthy?

I just don't follow the AS weekend events much, only reason I came here today is because Gordon won the 3 point contest.

 

But Kenny picked Gordon for dark house after the contest started and Gordon had already done well

 

Gordon got zero respect from those TNT guys.

Everyone got some sort of call out by the arena announcer as they walked in:
Klay --- "the defending 3 point champion!"
Kyrie --- "of the defending NBA champions"
Mathews -- "a dead-eye shooter who once hit 10 threes in a game!"

Gordon -- "a sharpshooter on the Houston Rockets." lolz.

Before the start it was all about Klay Thompson. The crowd also got really loud for his entrance, and his turn at the contest. It was awesome to see his look of disbelief after he was eliminated.

They also talked up Wes Mathews as the pre-game darkhorse. And he laid an egg.

Before the final 3 went, the commentary was "Kyrie is gonna take this, he's a game shooter. He knows what it's like to take all of these shots."

During Gordon's first round, the only commentary I remember was "this kid is feeling it right now." HA. Gordon has a beautiful shot. Great rotation on that ball. Congrats to Gordon. Such a likable guy.

You got to be the team that finds the Gordon and not the team that overpays for him.

 

Eric Gordon's face does not match his body. This is really annoying.

 

Most points ever in the first round with 25.

 

i was happy for gordon as if i won it myself.

but his head and neck would really suit better on someone bigger. maybe his aiming mechanism takes too much room up there.

 

I also had a feeling someone was going to win the three point contest

 

yeah they were all over Kyries dick, oh that's wet, oh he's going to make that one...meanwhile he bricks both

The most annoying was the one year I think harden was in it and they were saying oh yeah he can hear us and blah blah blah like they were trying to jinx him on purpose and throw his concentration off

 

Why does* it matter? Even then they called EG one of the top shooters and were hyping up his turns. Even Reggie said he was the darkhorse.

Just observations, more for humor's sake than anything. I'm usually the one saying "I don't care about the MVP, just win", etc etc. I didn't catch Reggie saying EG was the dark horse.

 

Because he didn't. It was only after EG dusted the first rack did they say, "uh oh, he's my dark horse, I said it in the green room off camera". Don't let these media non-conspiracy truthers sway your opinions. The evidence is out there.. I know the science.

Really happy for Gordon especially with him being a Rocket.
Great to see Clutch give him the biggest hug as he came out at the beginning.
Watching Gordon kind of reminded we watching my young boy play sport. At first you hope he does well but may not be expecting too much (and hope he's not the worst or embarrasses himself), but then are so proud that he wins/is the best.

My favorite part was the interview afterward. The humblest sharpshooter ever. Has there ever been a less fitting nickname than eGo?

 

And the most fitting one is Corey "The Drunken Dribbler" Brewer

that's a real nickname from his Florida days.

 

Kenny Smith is a cringe machine. He deserves his rings but shouldn't be allowed to milk them like he does. Dude never says ANYTHING controversial.
