EGo isn't getting respect because of his reputation from years ago. He's getting respect because he's hit 200+ threes in each of the two seasons he's been with us. Anyone who can hit that many threes in a season is a legitimate threat. He's isn't that great of a finisher this year either, imo. Teams will live with him driving to the hoop. The prior two years he's been 36.6% from beyond the arc on 8.8 attempts. Harden shot a lower percentage than that and is a much bigger threat driving to the rim, but I don't see anyone leaving Harden open from deep, do you?
Fair enough. I'd concede that he has been respectable shooting the 3 in the past two seasons but not great. I wish I had the stats of his shooting in games when he had been driving more to the basket. He seems to be more successful when he is more aggressive then when he settles at shooting contested threes. Harden is a different story. Defense knows that they cannot leave him open. If he gets hot, it's game over. So they have to crowd him and use help to cut off his drives. That's how he makes his teammate open. With Harden, it's pick your poison. That's what makes Harden an MVP caliber player.
i just rewatched the game from around the end of the third when harden sit down till the end of the game gordon was awesome and instrumental in our bench actually increasing the lead with several timely drives to the rim with ease for amazing layup baskets when harden come back in the game he then stopped driving completely and never scored again chucking several 3s in the process, except he had an alley up assist that come out (amazingly) from an another drive to the basket in transition he should definitely drive more and only occasionally shoot 3 pters until further notice if and when defenses adjust backing off of him trying to stop his drives he should come closer to the line and shoot volume 3s again
i hope so. cant really tell by his expression earlier. if u just tune in after the game tying three and you look at his face you think we lost by 20 and he already gave up.
Considering we were so far down and how poorly he’s shot the 3 this season, it seemed about right to me. He doesn’t seem to celebrate much when he makes 3 anyway, but I think he was just relieved
It finally looks like hes having fun out there dropping bombs and such Hes the ultimate six man complementary x-factor. If hes playing like this, watch out worriers
EG says "we gotta sacrifice more". I bet he's talking about Harden and him jacking up so many bricks.
