My sister had her oil change at some mechanic shop across the street. She drives for a week or two and the oil filter falls out and her car locks up on the highway. Now, it's like 8k plus to fix. What's the best course of action? Contact the mechanic shop first and let them know or should I tell my insurance and have them go after the shop?
