Neither does Harden, he relies on his handle and elite first step.

I'd hardly say that choosing Harden over Love is horsecrap, you're definately in a very small minority

You are thinking too much, no commentators would said anything like that to bash their team franchise player on tv unless they want to get themselves fire.

Harden is one of the worst floppers in the league, lets be honest here.

And ya think I'm in the minority to say Love>Harden? Interesting. I know most people on here would obviously say Harden is better.

They are praising Harden, that's all. You try to make it sound like they are bashing Love

I don't know about who is better, but yes, Harden's a flopper, an actor.

that's not what what we're talking about. We are only asking for praise for a job well done from Lin who is performing defensively at this moment. This can change. But right now LIn is playing LOCK-DOWN Defense

Please read and understand your own statement before you try to validate your claim:

"Why do you think whenever a PG (none that are worth mentioning other than parker) has a bad game that it means their guard "shut them down"?

How many times has harden simply, shut himself down? or other players getting good looks or shots, just having a bad night.

You can't use the opponents performance to gauge the defense played, especially on PGs that aren't consistently good anyway. "

This is crazy, when are people going to give Lin his due. The guy has played like an allstar WHEN he has been given opportunities. His scoring efficiency would be the envy of any NBA guard. His 3pt accuracy is among the best in the league. His defense has always been solid and especially great as of late. He is clutch and pours it on in the 4th quarter every time. He has adjusted his role time and time again and still played very well. So what's the problem? Can't we just appreciate all the good players on this team like Harden or Howard?

I've been thinking that's how we gauge defense ever since everyone was touting Beverley's amazing defense. The only thing they can point to is either the opposing PG's scoring or to their eye test b/c he got this great looking block or steal on the opposing PG once during the game (while neglecting to mention how much Bev hurts us on the offensive end). So if you're saying we can't gauge defense like that, then I'm inclined to say that Lin's defense is equally amazing, based on the last 3 games.

If people bother to pay attention, Lin really only has trouble guarding Paul, Westbrook, and Parker on a regular basis. He doesn't really have trouble against anyone else. If he can shut down Parker again than that list is trimmed to two. The gap between Beverley's D and Lin's D is not nearly as wide as the gap between Lin's O and Beverley's O. On a typical team, Lin would start as the best PG on the team but this isn't your typical team.
Beverley as a starter fulfills two roles - separates Harden and Lin so that you maximize the use of each otherwise it becomes redundant. He is also supposed to cover for Harden's usually atrocious D. Tough for him to cover his man AND Harden's but anyway...
This is why he needs to be a starter...not to mention the bench is useless without Lin and maybe Asik whenever he feels like playing.

Harden doesn't flop. Harden ATTACKS the rim harder than anyone in the game today. He gets legit foul calls.

Why is it that people who cry the most about flopping are the ones who have the least knowledge of what a flop really is?

Chris Paul is a flopper. James Harden does not play like Chris Paul.

    Flawed theory.

Beverlety cannot create space or draw a defender. He weakens Harden's offensive game. Harden has to use more energy on offense, which makes his defense worse.

Lin draws defenders to him, which creates space for Harden and Howard. The offense flows smoother, and more energy remains for defense.

This is why defense-only players are fools gold!

Lin plays every game with a target on his back, because of Linsanity.

Ever since the Westbrook incident, Beverley now has a target on his back as well.

Lin can handle the pressure, that is why his game improves while Beverley regressed.

Your opinion is horsecrap if you think Harden gets to the line only because he flops.

Does he flop? Yes. Does he only get to the line only because he flops? Absolutely not, and you have to be pretty biased to make that claim.

You are in a vocal minority if you think Kevin Love is better than Harden. I find it pretty laughable that you claim Harden is not a superstar (and I don't disagree on that matter) yet somehow think Kevin Love qualifies as one. The same Kevin Love whose team has never won 40% of their games, let alone make the playoffs.

And I'm not even saying Kevin Love is a bad player.

No, it's superstar. That's the standard. You name a superstar that hasn't led his team to a playoff victory in his entire career.
