That's exactly what I am thinking. Even if Jefferson is not a good spot-up shooter, how bad can he be compared with Posey? This tells us how important it is to have good scouts and GMs.
Found an interesting article. Potentially very good news for us: http://www.detnews.com/2003/pistons/0304/06/d08-129191.htm Sunday, April 6, 2003 Zach attack becomes latest Portland drama By Chris McCosky / The Detroit News AUBURN HILLS --When it comes to settling personal vendettas, this one would have made Charles Oakley, the NBA's Don Corleone, proud. Portland teammates Zach Randolph and Ruben Patterson have had problems with each other for two years. They have had verbal and physical tussles, usually instigated and won by Patterson. Randolph, a former Michigan Stater, got even last week. During practice Wednesday, Patterson and rookie Qyntel Woods began pushing and shoving each other. Randolph waited until teammates pinned Patterson's arms back then stepped in and punched him in the face, drawing blood. Luckily for Randolph, Patterson was refrained from getting to him or things would have really gotten ugly. "I have been around a long time and things happen in practice," Coach Maurice Cheeks said. "But this one was more serious." So serious that Randolph was suspended for two games and could be out even longer. "I don't know if it will shake the team, but this is going to test my coaching skills, just in trying to keep us together," Cheeks said. "I have to make sure our family stays together." This incident could be Randolph's ticket out of Portland. The Blazers are committed to Patterson through 2005-06. If the team decides one of the two must go, Randolph would be the easiest to move. Woods has other problems. When police recently pulled over his 2003 Cadillac Escalade, Woods was cited for speeding, mar1juana possession, having no license, no insurance and no registration. As proof of identification, Woods offered Portland police two credit cards bearing his name, plus his Blazers trading card. Wonderful. Woods admitted to officers he had smoked pot earlier in the day and said he has been addicted to pot for three years. If you're keeping score at home, that's three pot citations for the Blazers this year; Damon Stoudamire and Wallace were the others. Personally I wouldn't object to an EG for Randolph trade, and now it actually has some chance of happening. Thoughts?
Yes, let's get Randolph and keep him with the good company. Has he been found with pot before? Now since he is in trouble, he might be got for cheap.
Looking back now, those would be good picks. Also you took in consideration about the team we have at the moment, minus Griffin maybe even Posey I forgot (too lazy now to look). It's far-fetched to say that we would have the same exact picks and same exact team. The main thing here is that it's probably we wouldn't have Yao Ming or the #1 draft pick due the the increased depth to compensate for the injury plagued season.
We don't know. But great scouts should know. That's why they're called great scouts. And it's important to have great scouts on your franchise.
Sun, you must have known something we didn't when you started this thread! Now, Eddie would be a PERFECT fit in Portland!
Haha. That is hilarious. Officer - "May I see your driver's license please?" Woods - "How about a 2002 Upper Deck Limited Edition?"
Nice job... Patterson has a broken left eye socket and did not accompany the team to Houston. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/bk/bkn/rox/1856833
