Hopelessly voted Pacers in 7. I've always respected Indiana and been a fan of George for whatever reason. Hate Lebron
hopefully i don't regret it since cleveland seems to suck now, but as a cavs fan i wanted indiana way more than chicago. i know lebron always beats chicago in the playoffs but they owned the cavs so much this season and those past series have usually been physical and competitive. indiana doesn't really seem to have rim protection or great big guys or strengths to match up to the cavs' weaknesses (well, all of defense is their weakness). at least indiana gets off of their traditional nbatv spot..
Lebron could end up dragging this team to the playoffs after 2-3 long series and then get demolished in the finals. You can say people predicted that last season also, and that may be true. This time though the Cavs seem to be weaker and the East seems to be stronger so that scenario is more likely. Lebron is going to probably blow a gasket if his team plays mediocre.
Ranking every NBA playoff series by upset potential 4. Cleveland Cavaliers (2) vs. Indiana Pacers (7) My model might be overestimating Indiana's chances because the Pacers' head-to-head win against the Cavaliers came with LeBron James resting in November. However, Indiana did take Cleveland to double-OT at Quicken Loans Arena earlier this month before losing an epic game. So at least the Pacers might become the first team since the 2012 New York Knicks to win a game against James' team in the opening round of the playoffs. Upset probability: 16 percent
My, how the Cavs are limping into the playoffs. I don't suspect any kind of upset. But I don't know if the Cavs are going to "flip the switch" so credibly this time. So I split the difference and voted Cavs in 6, although I half-suspect they'll take it in 5.
Eastern conference first round LeBron versus match up. it's going to suck. At least Jeff VanGundy can spice things up.
It's so bizarre how far Lance Stephenson has fallen. It was only a few years ago people thought he was the next two-way star.
what if the cavs could make a free throw or an open corner 3? that would be nice. and i just want to say kevin love is so frustrating. seemingly 5 times a game he just does something where you can already feel his lack of athleticism about to kill the play (bad D, can't save/chase down a ball, etc) and it always seems to actually kill the play. he just never overcomes it feels like. and no one seems to miss more open 3's you'd really like at that moment to keep momentum going or to stop the other team's momentum. he was 2 of the wide open corner 3's that could have built the lead when to near double digits and of course he bricked both.
