This is very much on point. Kyrie is extremely overrated. He can score a lot, but he is very average distributor for a pg. He also loves to iso to death, dribble around too much and his game screams all about ME and not TEAM. I mean dude left Cavs partially because he felt too big to be second wheel to Lebron. Instead improving his pg skills like sharing ball, making plays he just left to other place he'd be 1st option.
Yeah I don't see that happening. 1. Hayward came to Boston solely for his college coach Brad Stevens. He even said so in his Players Tribune piece. I don't see Boston trading him any time soon. It's would be a PR disaster especially after Hayward's freakish injury. Celtics have to give him a fair shot at playing after recovery or it would poison the well for future free agents. 2. Kyrie is the best finisher at the rim in the league and an excellent isolation player -- skills highly valued in today's game. Again, he was banged up all season long and was still very productive. Also, Ainge gave up a top-10 pick for Irving. Celtics will likely play him next season and see where it goes. Irving is a free agent in 2019 (player option) so there's plenty of time for Celtics to evaluate if they want to commit long term or not.
A blow out game 1 win is probably the second worst thing to happen to the Celtics outside a game 1 loss losing home court. I don't expect this to happen to a Brad Stevens run team, but they might be feeling themselves game 2. unlikely though.
Ok to the one game people, u being real native. U can point to other series all u want each is different. Fact of the matter Cavs have really one guy that's reliable in creating n scoring. Boston has like 4 guys that can do everything u want in basketball..shot dribble defend switch. That's really hard then u have a great coach. Obj can't overcome those odds
The only weekends is right now if they go up against a team that can also all those things but have stars....gsw n rockets that's when they gonna mis kyrie n hayward
This. I know Clutchfans hates anyone competing against Harden for MVP, but Kyrie was legit on a tear when the Celtics were on that 16-game win streak to start the season. He was straight balling until injuries cut his season short.
because that kind of defensive effort simply isn't sustainable for 48 minutes, and certainly not be a team with only 6 or 7 guys they trust, and certainly not by lebron when he has to carry the whole offense. that was fool's gold defense. this is reality. the celtics probably won't have all their best players making everything in every game (they've certainly showed a tendency to struggle on the road), but i don't know what the cavs have for them. the two guys who most help them score, love and korver, are huge defensive liabilities (aka white).
But as a watcher of basketball u can't tell even before the series start that Boston was gonna win this series easily? I'll ask u what then in ur okay opinon can the Cavs do to legitimately win the series
